Drinks Got Drugged. Our drinks got drugged here on Sat Dec 18th right in front of us. We realize its not the bars fault, we just want to get a warning out there. I choose poor review in hopes that people will read this and be more careful. We love the Powerhouse and visit regulary but things will never be the same since Sat. We didnt realize it happened until it was too late. We are very lucky. Be very careful don't let your drinks out of your sight literally. The girl who did this did it right in front of us as she pretended to dance. She acted like she was dancing then nudged in between us and leaned over onto the stage as if to act like she was cheering the band. She was leaning over our drinks and in one split second it happened. She had a man accomplice with her, be very careful. If things seem weird they are! Go with your gut, don't chalk it up to people having fun. My faith in people has changed. Consider ourselves lucky to have woken up from the coma state.

Terrible!!!!. Don't go!!! The most unwelcoming enviornment ever!!! No Diversity? Maybe not in that area? The last time we saw a bar like that was in Old Elk Grove... They're related perhaps? We went to the Monday Karaoke Contest Night and it was a terrible experience! First, the barteder and his staff ignored us when we asked about the karaoke contest... Second, even when the KJ walked by us a couple of times, she was rude and acted like she didn't even know anything about the karaoke contest! The Karaoke Contest must be fake because no one showed up and the advertisement of getting a hundred dollars was also a lie!!!! Oh, and even when my friend waited forever for the bartender to serve him... at the end, my drink tasted disgusting!!! We recommend Marilyn's Live Band Karaoke Night on Thursday Nights! The staff is awesome, the bartenders are friendly, and the band members are the nicest people!!!! Oh, and last but not least, the drinks taste really good too!!!!

NO!. I went to the powerhouse on a Monday night for karaoke... First the KJ was horrifically slow, she would be found talking to a friend long after the singing had stopped and she would just casually come back to get to the next in rotation. Maybe slow was the theme for the night because the 2 bartenders there took thier sweet time, didn't acknowledge me there. It took 10 min before they asked me what I wanted and then walked away from me because his song came up, it took another 5 min for the next bartender to get to me another 2 mins to get me a beer and a well rum coke. All this time there was only ONE person in front of me. There was maybe a whole 10 or 11 people in the bar. Also the drinks are insanely expensive. $5 for a pint of domestic $12 for a pitcher of domestic $16 for imported!! No drink specials AT ALL!

good place to hang. The Powerhouse Pub has a back patio thats a good place to hang when the place is packed (fri and sat nights) Cover charge is 10-15 bucks. Some times the bands are fab. The place has plenty of room on the dance floor and a overall roadhouse look to it.

Best pizza anywhere. * Be conversational: Write it as if relaying your experience to a good friend.

* Be specific: Generalities like "lazy service" or "tasty pizza" leave people wanting more detail.

* Be yourself: If you're an expert on burgers, let us know. If this is your first-time massage, say so.

* Compare apples to apples: Burger joints shouldn't be held to the same standards as four-star restaurants.

people watching. Loud music, live bands. They have a variety of live bands of all kinds here. Age group varies, though mostly between 25 - 40. Plenty of both sexes, good place to meet a new friend, though you won't have any intimate conversation, it's very loud when the bands are playing, but come here to dance.

The blues are alive and well at this club in Old Folsom.. In Short
Located at the end of historic Sutter Street, this club scores points for its rustic roadhouse charm. In addition to a pool table, video games, pinball and darts, the pub also offers several large-screen TVs (some of them in the upstairs sitting area) for sporting events. Munch on bar food such as quesadillas, hamburgers, ribs and eggs Benedict on Sundays. Local blues bands and national touring musicians both make stops here.

All Night Long.... Given the humble beginnings of the Powerhouse Pub (a.k.a. The Sutter St. Saloon), the new owners have done a fantastic job in creating a mixture of areas to dance, sit and talk, sit in a corner and mumble to your drink or find someone with whom to talk. Sometimes the cover charge is a bit high, but with the quality of bands which show, the price is worth every penny. Just remember to keep going until you are unable to go anylonger.

PHP Rocks. What a great venue to watch a band. This place really allows for great crowd participation.
