Worst food , attitude and service ever! STAY AWAY!. Well , this was one of the worst dining experiances I have had in a long time. Took forever to get the orders taken, and then when the food came it was not anything near what one would expect. Ordered the raque of lamb, the poor little raque had hardly any meat on it as was prices ners $30! I complained and was told thats just the way they are, so I asked to order something else then, but they still wanted to charge me for the lamb, said they would give it to me at cost. That poor little piece wasn't worth $20. Most places would have just server me another entree and charged for that!. What a piece of crapola this place is! I will never come to this place ever again! Stay away, If you go you were warned!

With its outdoor patio and indoor fireplace, this comfortable bar and restaurant attracts a year-round crowd.. The Scene
With a large, relaxed outdoor patio and lively bar, this spot is a great place to meet up with friends and family after an active day. The more formal (but still cozy) dining room has white tablecloths, rustic beams and a fireplace.

The Food
While it changes seasonally, the contemporary California menu includes a mix of seafood, meat, game and one or two vegetarian options. Crab cakes are drizzled with a complementary spicy lemon, garlic and shallot sauce. Salads, however, can be overpowered by heavy dressings. Specials may include a coconut-crusted escolar served with a lemongrass sauce over a bed of rice. Pan-seared red trout topped with proscuitto is full of flavor, while a 16-ounce New York steak cooked to order is very satisfying. All entrees include vegetables and fresh-baked bread. Service is friendly, and the wine list is extensive and reasonably priced.

Excellent Food!. The River Ranch consistently presents wonderful food using only the best ingredients! It is situated right on the Truckee River near the entrance to Alpine Meadows, so you not only have excellent food but a stunning view of the river as well.

The inside is dark, warm, and inviting but if you prefer the outdoors they have a cool deck as well.

The service is always very nice, too, which is a plus in my opinion.

You can eat anything from venison, to a fresh fish of the day, to pasta, to chicken...well, I think you get the picture.

Relax after rafting. In the summer, the deck is packed with folks watching the spectacle of people trying to row their rafts toward the dock. The basics are fine here -- beer and burgers -- but it's the scene below that draws the crowds.
