Cheaper than a plane ride to NYC...... My daughter's favorite: the pastrami & swiss on grilled rye..... is an incredible sandwich......only the Carnegie or Stage Deli is better....and you have to fly to New York.......

My biggest problem with Max's: the pastrami or the "#6" (turkey, avocado, etc......on ciabatta) is soooooo good, we haven't tried any other sandwiches on the menu.

Too bad "Max's" is closed on Saturdays and Sundays.....

NY STYLE HOT PASTRAMI IN AUBURN!. Checked this place out based on a 3 star review in The Sacramento Bee about their hot pastrami sandwich. Damn Skippy, they were right on! Haven't had a HOT PASTRAMI sandwich this good since living back east. Good rye bread too. Not a good corn rye, butt better then i've had locally in a long time.

#6 on focaccia rocks!. Best sandwiches in Placer County! Guess that's why they are always voted BEST DELI. They have espresso & ice creams too. The #6(turkey & avocado) on grilled focaccia might be the best sandwich I've ever had! The mustard was fantastic. Where do they get it?
