The Scene
First established in 1939, the club moved from its original L Street location in early 2000. Expect a mix of jovial charm and somber war memorials--think W.C. Fields posters and "if it's too loud, you're too old" placards in the same room with P.O.W. flags and personal tributes to Vietnam vets. Before the music gets started, the jukebox favors Otis Redding and Robert Cray with nods to Patsy Cline. Diehard music fans mostly in their 30s and 40s stake out seats, while the uninitiated often wander in after dinner at next-door Zen Toro or before dancing at nearby Elements.
The Draw
Sacto's blues royalty, including Arbess Williams and Johnny "Guitar" Knox, have graced the fake torch-flanked stage. More recently, acts like Little Charlie and the Nightcats and local bar band the Beer Dawgs have had patrons stompin' and singin' the blues.

Ahhh the Torch Club. I have nothing but praise for this fabulous place. The Blues Jam on Sundays is phenomenal. Stacie Eakes & the Superfreakes (sp) are the best! You can never go wrong with Ratatat Pat Balcom on the drums, his talent is amazing & he is truly a good guy! I highly recomment this wonderful source of entertainment. Brava to Marina for a job well done!
Pros: The Torch Club is a wonderful place to be!
