The Scene
Artie's is a family-friendly, retro-'50s diner with some frisky art Deco touches thrown in for good measure. It's clean, it's attractive, and best of all, it's not too busy at night and on the weekends. So when Mel's Diner is packed on Saturday afternoon, tromp to Artie's for better food, cleaner bathrooms and a much more relaxed, peaceful environment.
The Food
The hefty club sandwich, made with thick hickory-smoked bacon, is great, and the burgers aren't bad either. Try the one-third pound teriyaki mushroom burger or the funky Italian burger, served with bell peppers, onions, Romano cheese and Italian herbs. Artie's also has a wonderful selection of vegetarian burgers, as well as a full soda and ice cream fountain (featuring Sacramento's own Gunther's ice cream).

This is a cute store. The place has many different types of wild horses and other antique collectibles. This is a fun place to buy or even just to look at. The prices of the different collectibles vary. You can find things ranging from $10 to $100 dollars and more. They have a lot of different items that would make a great gift for someone who is into antiques. The store is clean and organized. The staff is very friendly. They will great and smile when you walk into the store. Parking is available.

Not Just Burgers:
The deli sandwiches are also yummy, and the fries are crispy. Yum.
For the Little 'Uns:
Kids, there's the requisite gumball machine and a very cool rocketship you can drive for 10 cents, but hold on tight—it's a prettyrough ride.
