Sacramento's only glatt kosher butcher shop (grocery/deli) makes a mean pastrami sandwich.. The Scene
Although it's not much to look at, Bob's offers a cornucopia of kosher eating. Load up on canned goods, cookies, crackers and kosher junk food from well-stocked shelves, or order meat from the deli counter. Bob's offers a couple of tables if you should decide to sample your groceries in-house.

The Food
Bob and Shira Gittleman run the store together. Shira bakes fresh challah (egg bread) on Fridays, which is said to rival any recipe. Bob's also caters weddings, bar mitzvahs and even the occasional Capitol event. Order matzo ball soup or soup-of-the-day, hotdogs and wursts on a bun or choose from a huge array of sandwiches and sides.

What to Order
The "blockbuster" pastrami or corned beef sandwich--complete with Russian dressing--is legendary. Also available: kosher New York-style pizza.
