Davis was once noted as one of the most bikable cities in the united states. Although I do not know about this, I can say that Davis provides the type of atmosphere that is genuine to health conscious California while offering a variety of fresh local produce, hardy plants, and wholesome goods. It is a great way to show your support for the local ecological good and absorb the tree fresh air while partaking in a well-established community.
Pros: Support your local FARMERS!
Cons: Parking.

When you are thinking what to do on an early Wednesday night or Saturday morning, you should just get in your car and go to the Farmers Market. Produce and home cooked and baked good adorn the long row of farmers and small businesses. This is Davis, so you get the small town goods and service like you would expect at a farmer's market. Although there may be a larger variety of goods at the Sacramento Farmer's Market, the Davis Farmer's Market maintains that "straight from the farmer's fields to you mouth" experience. If you have kids, the Davis market will entertain them all with tastes of all the fruit, balloon animals, ($1) kettle corn made in a witch's cauldron and a fountain to keep them cool in the summer.
