Great place for dance. This is a very diverse school of dance. One can get training from classical ballet to hip hop and everything in between.

Best studio in town!!. Hawkins School of Performing Arts is a wonderful studio! My 10 year old daughter has been dancing their since she was 2 1/2 and is now on two of their pre-professional companies. The training at this facility is the best in town. I am disappointed that the little 5 year old dreaming ballerina wasn't able to get into class there. This is a hard time of year to get into the studio since it is the end of the dance season. (Hawkins year is June-July) They have a new schedule and brand new classes that start July 7th 2008. New registrations will be taken at their open house on June 14th on a first come first serve basis. I hope the little ballerina to be sees this and comes by the studio on the 14th to pick out her classes. If she gets into the studio, she and her mom will realize it was worth the wait.

Ballet slippers in waiting. I was so disappointed that the Hawkins Performing Arts Center did not take it upon themselves to extend their hand in courtesy and concern in communicationg with me about possible classes for a very enthusiastic five year old who has stars in her eyes.

For a month I have had my name hanging on a piece of paper against a wall waiting for the appropriate number of children to sign for that day and time.

A check from office staff about the status of waiting clients and an appropriate courtesy phone call saying that another class time may be appropriate, that time was passing and they didn't want my girl to miss one exciting minute of the classes.

Instead my name still stands on a lifeless piece of paper, no call ,and the leotards and pink ballet slippers stand ready and waiting in a drawer to go into service.

It would be a good idea to have staff call each and every person on a list longer than three weeks and chat about other possibilities they have to offer.
