Rancho Seco 'County' Park

by TakeNoPrisoners at Citysearch

Rancho Seco is a pond used for cooling water recovery by a defunct Nuclear Reactor plant.

Need I say more. Kinda pretty, but not a great fishing lake. They charge just to drive in the gate.

It's a nice little county park. It's close to me here and I still go elsewhere.

  • Pros: Depending on what you're looking for, it's a nice place.
  • Cons: Size of lake. There are better fishing lakes not far from here.

Rancho Seco Recreation Park

by JOEYJOE530 at Citysearch

"I heard this was THE SPOT...I was not impressed much, but it was very clean and quiet until 8:45 a.m.! We all hear big fish stories, and this one I will write off as a REALLY BIG story.Eight pound trophy fish???I only saw Bass and they were average, everyday you see fishing size Bass...I only had to drive an hour and twenty minutes, BUT that was time I could have spent reeling in the MONSTERS elsewhere...Two and a half stars fishing...Three and a half for camping overnight."

  • Pros: You can see fish...
  • Cons: They see you too!!!
