Not A Good Thing .....
.... just bought a double burger for $4 and it was the absolute worst burger I've ever eaten. (actually threw most of it away in the parking lot and thought i was gonna puke. really)
It came with 2 shriveled and over cooked little ground beef (i think) patties served with about an inch thick overload mixture of wilted lettuce, thousand island dressing and onions. While trying to eat it, the bun kind of fell apart (stale? ) dropping the gooey mess all over. After 3 bites or so, that was it.
Even when I actually paid for the burger and picked it up from the front outside counter, it wasn't even put in a bag. It was just put in a "burger holder" that already had grease on the outside of it.
The outside tables and counters were filthy so I had to eat (what i could stomach) in my car.
I used to go to the Lou's on Auburn Blvd. a long time ago and was great and nothing like this. Not trying to bash the place and I don't like writing negative details, but this was awful. Yuck.
Best Hamburgers in the World. My parents have been going to Lou's since the fifties. I have gone my whole life and now it is my children's first place they want to eat when they visit Sacramento. My children say Lou's has the best hamburgers in the whole world and we love the unusually milkshake flavors like pineapple and blackberry.
best and biggest shakes.
For the best and biggest shakes in town you must go to Lou's.
They have real fruit cut up in them. so be sure to get a spoon, you'll need it.
The burgers are GIANT. and the prices are stuck in a time warp.
What a bargain.
I Drive 120 Miles. I've been know to drive a 120 miles for a Lou's double cheese and deep fried mushrooms.
FIVE STARS FOR FLAVOR!. A long time neighborhood favorite. Change of ownership has not change the burger sauce recipe and continues to bring that "Happy Days " feel to even the youngest customers. The food is hot, flavorful, and almost always a little greasey(just like it should be). Remeber we're talking burgers about a drive-in restaurant. Most highly recommended is the double cheese burger and fresh banana shake, What a sweet combo!!!!!!!!!!! Over all rating for flavor is Five superstar!!! Just remember the place is about sixty years old and look past the location.
