Disappointed. My husband and I went to Carvers for Valentines day and while I found the restaurant nice and romantic, the food was very disappointing. We had the filet and lobster for dinner. The filet was tough and had no flavor. I even had to put a little salt on it! The lobster was fine and the potatoes were good. Salad was not that great and they wouldn't let you choose your dressing, weird. Cocktails were good and strong. I had a giftcard that was from the old company (Paragon?)and they gave me a bankruptcy form to fill out since they don't accept those cards! What a joke! I can make better steak at home.
Great Overall experience. This is one of the best romantic spots is Roseville. It is a bit expensive and I recommend that you make a reservation in advance. You can make a reservation the same day so call ahead to avoid waiting. The food and service was excellent. I recommend the Stuffed Mushroom appetizer.
LOVE IT. This is one of our favorite places to have a good steak. I really enjoy dining there late, when its less busy and a little more quiet. But even in the middle of the dinner rush, I've still been satisfied with the service and meal. We love the good old-fashioned service that most other restaurants now lack!
Wonderful steak. Always left feeling satisfied.. On the 3 occasions that I have been to Carver's, I have always been extremely pleased with my meal. The filet mignon is superb, cuts like butter, full of flavor, extremely tender and melts in your mouth. The service has been very good, even when crowded and the staff pleasant. Atmosphere in the booths is very nice.
Carvers has gone downhill!!. Just left Carvers. Took my wife there for her birthday. Took a nice bottle of Champagne with us. The restaurant did NOT have champagne glasses! Waiter told us the Manager said to use port or sherry glasses!!! Meal was above average but EXTREMELY noisy!! They have valet parking. When we picked up car from valet, someone had been sitting in it, playing with radio, adjusting A/C and seats. TACKY! Of course valet manager denied everything! This restaurant is not as good as it once was....there are many more in the area worth going to besides Carvers.
Pricey but pleasant. The decor was very elegant. The staff was superb. Other than the cocktail sauce having a little too much horseradish, everything tasted exquisite. They have child menus with a pretty standard selection for children. They were quick to remove our dishes after each course and keep our drinks filled. If any of the staff walked by and noticed something they promptly took care of it themselves. My wife was astonished when they replaced the bread plates with the bread! This was a true dinning experience with one small exception. It was extremely noisy from everyones conversation bouncing off the ceiling which is why I cant recommend this restaurant for a romantic date. Then came the check. A meal for two can easily reach $100 excluding alcohol. The portions match the price and considering todays prices its not that outrageous. Overall, it was excellent. I would highly recommend it.
How to cook a steak.
The last two times that I have been to
carver's I was very disappointed. I asked for medium rare on my steak and one time it was well done and the oter was medium well. The falvor of the meat wasn't. Also I had a reservation for four and was try8ing to add 2 more and was told that I couldn't get the extra people and would have to wait two hours. After arriving at the restaurant there were empty tables the whole time we dined.
Poor cooking. Ordered a filet rare and it came out grey and raw. Sent it back. Server offered a different choice (other than steak) saying "They don't know how to cook steaks rare, no one orders it that way" This is a top rated steak house?? You've got to be kidding.
I keep going back, Why?.
Everytime i go to carvers i am dissapointed in the meal. The prime rib is nothing special.
There Mushrooms sem to be there specialty
Great Restaurant!. Great food, and overall experience. Would go back any day!
