Grooming. I wouldn't recommend Petco Grooming. My pup is a 85 pound goldendoodle. Kindess, most mellow dude ever. I dropped him off at 9am and they still weren't done grooming him at 3:30pm. Making a 85 pound dog sit crated up or tied to a chair for 6 1/2 hours is ridiculous. He has gorgeous wavy/cripped hair which they completely shaved off instead of brushing it through like I requested. They didn't spend the quality time on his hair like he deserved. Very very upsetting. Now I have to wait 6 months for his hair to grow out well aside from the hair they left on the top of his head and tail. I don't think it is possible to give a big male dog a girlier hair cut. Once again I would like to say I requested several times that they do not shave him at all. I am furious!!!! Do not go to Petco for grooming, you will be highly disappointed.

Grooming. I have 2 medium sized mixed breeds. I take them for "summer" cuts 3 times a year. A summer cut is just a plain haircut, cut short all over.

Before I moved here to Roseville, I took them to an independent groomer in Grass Valley. It took about 2 hours longer in GV, but the cut was PERFECT and the price was the same. The dogs were happy and not stressed - and I felt the same!

I've gone to this Petco twice. They didn't have to be there as long, but the cut was not professional at all. They looked okay, but I could see razor marks in several places (like how a rug looks right after it's vacuumed) and the scissor cuts on the tails and ears were uneven.

The dogs were just as happy as ever and not stressed, so I felt fine. They're not show dogs, but next time I'll try PetSmart.
