Authentic, Western homestead in the gold-rush country.. The Scene
Placerville, formerly known as Hangtown due to its fondness for hanging its outlaws, is a small, gold-rush town at the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. The Wild West is alive and well at the known at the Shadowridge Ranch, a local homestead dating from 1869. With 155 wooded acres, a room that holds up to 800 people and on-site catering, this is a popular venue for theme weddings and corporate events.

The Details
The property's two cabins and two suites each feature country decor. Some take the ambience one step further with walls made from authentic hand-hewn logs and cedar shakes. Kitchenettes are available, and a full breakfast and afternoon hors d'oeuvres and wine are always complimentary. The enormous two-bedroom gardener's cottage is like a luxurious home with full country kitchen, private deck and washer and dryer.
