Editorial Review for Venita Rhea's – by Tara de Lis
The Scene
Sweeping canopies are draped over the skylights in this American eatery with a charming French country decor. Adults relish a real restaurant experience while kids point out playful elements of the cute canal mural to their grandparents. A caricature of the husband-and-wife owners as contemporary American Gothics oversee earnest amateur servers zipping around the spacious dining room.
The Food
Competent cooking readies large portions for mass consumption, be it for all-day breakfast service or casual business lunches. A variety of benedicts are offered, such as the Jimmy Ray, served on a health nut muffin with lunch-meat-style turkey, fresh avocado and a light bearnaise. Most orders come with a choice of well-seasoned home fries or brick-thick hash browns; for a delicious extra side, consider the juicy maple sausage. The lunch menu includes the signature spinach salad with hot bacon dressing and oversized sandwiches.

We had breakfast here 8/6/07, it was amazing. The wait was about 30 mins, but for a Sunday brunch time it was expected. The menu had so many choices. When our food arrived it was amazing. I couldn't even describe the amount of food you get, it was wonderful. Fresh squeezed OJ and homemade jam. The staff was great. I would have loved it more if we could have eaten outside because the morning was so nice, however I will go again and again, and it recommend it to all those I love. Just a few notes: Take an EMPTY stomach because you will walk away more than satisfied.TRY IT, YOU WILL LOVE IT. A Real Diamond!!!
Pros: Food, Food, Food
Cons: Wait

I love this place. I have been going there for years. Breakfast and lunch can't be beat. I only have one complaint, the coffee taste terrible. Very bitter and I love a good cup of coffee with breakfast and when I eat thereI have to drink tea. That is my only negative thing to say. Otherwise I highly reccommend this place to everyone.
Pros: great ambience, parking is easy, good service, great food
Cons: bad, bad, coffee
