buffet eating at a good price. Prior to last night, I hadn't eaten at any Hometown Buffet in years. The previous time was at the Florin location, am the only memorable dish for me then was the steak. I think it used to cost about $15 a person.

Last night, my wife & I went to the E.G. location b/c she got a buy 1 get 1 free coupon for her birthday (total price for us was about $13-something w/ drinks for each of us). We went there on a Friday night and arrived at about 7:30pm. We were just inside the interior door waiting to pay. It was about a 10 min wait but I was surprised to discover that the dinner prices were about $10 a person w/ the unlimited drinks bar at $1 each. Breakfast is $5 a person.

They have a salad bar, Mexican, Asian, American Classics, Italian, Dessert, some floating islands w/ hot food in them, and a variety of drinks in the center of the restaurant.

I remember loving the beef back ribs, steak, Hawaiin coconut shrimp, breaded shrimp (very salty), breaded fish, pot roast, asian noodles.

Admittedly, some stations didn't appeal to me very much (Asian, Italian) perhaps due to the appearance or my mood because I didn't try to each much of it. Most of the desserts didn't taste good to me.

Also, during our visit some of the machines were broken (they had out of service signs on them). Those were the Capuccino machine and the ice cream (frozen yogurt?) machine. Additionally, near the end of the night, there was no one available to scoop ice cream (4 flavors) for me.

Overall, it is a very good value for the money. I believe the taste and quality is similar to the Golden Corral in E.G. which we ate at months ago, so for my money I would choose H.B. over G.C. for the $5/person savings.
