The consistency of the food it rock solid. You get what you pay for. It is not fine dining by any means but good food for the price. I consider it a good place to bring your family.

OMG!!!! THIS IS THE BEST PLACE FOR FOOD & SERVICE!!!!. This place is fabulous -the ambiance, the service, the food, prices, flair, taste, menu options - OMG OMG OMG...am from Canada - went with friends 2 days in a row - got the crab ravioli - and WOW...i could not believe it...was soooo delicious and the service was SECOND TO NONE... go there !!! you'll like it I'm sure... for those who only dine at $100 a plate places, go here and donate the balance of what you would have paid compared to this price list to your favorite charity...HIGHLY RECOMMENDING THIS PLACE - IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Food's better than some say. It's in the rapidly improving and eclectic midtown district, with lots of other restaurants, coffee shops, bars and art galleries nearby. A drug rehab program facility a block away is a good neighbor and causes no problems. It's a real urban city, now, so get over it! Spaghetti with mizithra cheese and meat sauce ("Manager's Favorite") is good! The best place for kids and family in Sacramento. They'll love it when a train rumbles past -- about 60 feet from the windows.

THE ROSEVILLE LOCATION IS WAY BETTER!. It was kind of disappointing. We made a special reservation for a wedding rehersal dinner, in August 2007. When we got there they said we had no reservation, we had to wait to be seated(witha big group) The food took forever to get on the table, it was kind of expensive and the food wasnt even that good. THE ROSEVILLE location has better service, better food. I WILL NOT RETURN

Kitschy Italian restaurant churns out heaping plates of pasta that won't break the bank.. In Short
Whimsical antiques and decorative items--velvet armchairs, vintage-looking fringed lamps and booths made from iron bedsteads--fill the dining room. The OSF Classics menu offers spaghetti with a choice of mushroom sauce, rich meat sauce, browned butter and feta-like mizithra cheese sauce, and more. Other popular favorites are the baked lasagna--layers of noodles, tomato sauce and four kinds of cheese--and the fettuccine Alfredo. Meals include a green salad, fresh-baked bread and ice cream.

Nothing special, save your money and go somewhere else.. The food is absolutely nothing special. I've had a lot of rude experiences here, from various members of the staff. One time, I asked for garlic salt because the dish I had was EXTREMELY bland, and the cook actually came out and was huffy and puffy, all upset that I had asked for something to be added to the dish. Save your money and go to Macaroni Grill or Olive Garden... or just make your own pasta. I'd be embarrassed to take my out of state friends here, and would not use it to define Sacramento's eateries. This is definitely a restaurant to be skipped.

The food isn't the best. Yes, I do agree that the food isn't the best, but the atmosphere is quite interesting here. It is really neat how they kept the train station atmosphere, and even a bus/train in the restaurant. It is good to go with a bunch of people or with kids where the gourmet isn't the main focus.

Unless you are dining with a 6 year old, don't bother. Pretty bland food - probably good for little kids, though. Cool location and cool railroad car, but for grown ups, this a very unremarkable place. Service is good and staff are nice, but menu is very limited - no pesto anywhere! - and it kind of all tastes the same.

Don't go for the food. As you know by now, the food isn't the greatest. I used to hate the OSF but I don't mind it now. The reason we go is because my daughter can make a mess(within reason) with her friends and they(staff) don't care. My dd and her friends love it b/c it's a cool looking building with a rail car in it. They do have some decent to not bad food. Try the greek chicken, mizithra, cobb salad, and the penne special with sausage, peppers, and onions. I agree with the poster that said it's healthier for kids than the average place. I don't feed my child chicken nuggest or hotdogs at home so why would I pay for it when we want a decent meal? To sum it up, you can take your kid here where they can get a fairly healthy, kid friendly meal; they will be fairly entertained; they make a mess YOU don't have to clean up (much)-all of this for under $10 a person. Not awful. I wouldn't go here on a regular basis but it's better than going to McDonalds for a treat.

Horrible Cafeteria Food. This was a horrible experience. The food was absolutely horrible. There may be some nostalgia over the railroad station, but I will never return this restaurant. The food tasted like spaghettios - straight from the can!
