Sacramento institution serves up the tried-and-true Chinese cuisine we all love, plus a few surprises.. The Scene
Elegant interior punctuated with beautiful Chinese artifacts. The restaurant is closely associated with the state politicians, administrators and lobbyists who lunch there religiously, and many a political deal is said to have been hatched over a plate of Frank's brandy-fried chicken (a house specialty) or a bowl of sizzling rice soup.



The Food
The restaurant focuses on the four main styles of Chinese cuisine: Cantonese, Szechwan, Peking and Shanghai. Quite Frank-ly (get it?), you can't go wrong. The sang gai shee chow mein, a jumble of chicken, black mushrooms and vegetables with oyster sauce, or one of the famous steaks--the sizzling New York steak is glazed with a lip-smacking teriyaki sauce. The potstickers are an excellent starter dish, and the special clams are also to die for.

mmmmmmmmmmm. i never go wrong with frank fats. i take most friends there when they come into town and unlike another review here, i have never gone wrong. now when my buddies come into town they say, "i want franks steak, honey walnut prawns and bannana cream pie". it's one of my favorite restraunts in sacramento (stay away from california fats though).

It needs a "Fat" overhaul. I recently took the family there for a birthday dinner. For expensive chinese food, it was absolutely the worse Chinese restaurant where I've eaten. The duck was burnt and over crispy and the wonton and seafood soups were tasteless and boring. The walnut prawns was okay but had better at other Sac'to restaurants. Even the banana pie didn't measure up to expectations. Well, it gave us little and took our earnings.......now I can understand why its a politician's hangout!!!!!!!
