The Scene
Not much has changed at this restaurant since it was sold to the Bay Area based Faultline Brewing Company in March of 2000. Stuart Edgecomb is still working wonders in the kitchen, Vienna--the award-winning amber lager-- is still flowing freely from the tap and working stiffs still fill the place almost nightly. The only difference is that you can now sample Faultline brews along with the regular beer.
The Food
Definitely not the standard pub fare. Dinner is a fancy affair with prices to match. Lunch is more casual and tends to draw in executive types because of its proximity to the Capitol and the surrounding business district. Don't expect any low-cal selections on the rich and sinful, California-cuisine-infused menu. Goat cheese and oils are a running theme through many dishes.
What to Order
Start with the amazingly well-constructed eggplant napoleon, the restaurant's signature appetizer. The tiny tower is layered with goat cheese, basil pesto and tomato tapenade, and served with red pepper coulis. Also indulge in the brick-oven-baked pizzas and the spicy, seafood-rich jambalaya.

We ordered pizzas and drinks and an appitizer of Onion Rings... The Onion rings were good of course being almost like homemade however if your stomach can't handle greesy, that's what they are...more than atypical greesy, it was dripping off of them. The pizza is the best size for a person and looks and smells good but the outer crust was burned and the dough in the center was still raw. The greese also sat on top of the pizza that could soak napkins up. I would expect this from a mom and pop place not from a Brewery. Their slogan on their glasses also said "You don't support your drinking but River City does" I thought that very inappropriate for an establishment. I am not picky but River City motivated me to get online and write a review. Every situation will vary depending on the staff working at the time you arrive, I just wanted to inform of the experience my husband and I had. The service was okay but not $50.00 worth for two pizzas and two drinks.

Just had lunch here OMG!! One of the best burgers in town. I suggest ordering the onion rings that are made fresh in a fluffy beer batter. The pizza is good and is made in a brick stone oven. All over it is a great place to dine. I can't wait to go back for dinner with the hubby.

They have a nice selection of lagers and ales. The food is always great, and so is the service. Best place to eat in the downtown mall.
