Editorial Review for Chanterelle – by Trish Stokell
The Scene
Nestled in the lower level of the exquisite Sterling Hotel, this romantic spot is an ideal place for couples to dine by candlelight. When weather permits, the enclosed patio is a lovely outdoor dining choice, with a trickling fountain providing soothing background noise. The doting waitstaff provide excellent service.
The Food
Flavors and presentation are top-rate. The double-cut Australian lamb chops are enhanced with flavorful minted garlic sauce that perfectly complements the garlic mashed potatoes and baby veggies. The seafood ravioli is filled with a satisfying mix of lobster, scallops, salmon and ricotta goat cheese. The desserts are sumptuous works of art: White chocolate cheesecake with a shortbread crust is enclosed in a milk chocolate shell and topped with mixed berries.

I specifically joined citysearch because chanterelle is not fine dining that I expected. First of all, the server took fifteen minutes to take our drink orders. Second of all, the atmosphere is not nice. Third of all, the cocktails were $9.50. I was confused at the cocktail price as this is not LA or NY. I would never recomment this place. The food was good but not worth what we paid.

Borderline gross. Is not fine dining. The server we had was very nice but the food was fried, salty and overcooked. The description of the dishes did not indicate that the food was fried but it was. Not worth the money and barely better than going to a chain restaurant in regards to the food. The atmosphere and the service is good but not good enough to cover the fact that the food is almost inedible.
Pros: Service, Atmosphere
Cons: FOOD.
