Best downtown sitdown restaurant!. Honestly the service and food is very good here. I've never had a bad experience in this restaurant and based on the amount of people that frequent this place I would say they have many loyal happy customers.

Best Pad Thai in town & comes with Garlic Bread!. The food is great! Service is also great too! I have been there many times for lunch. We love to sit outside under the great spreading oak tree in good weather. The pizza, and Italian foods are all great, and my co-workers usually order pasta or sandwiches. But my personal favorite is the Pad Thai, which is awesome!! I think it is so funny that an Italian Restaurant serves my favorite Pad Thai and that it comes with Garlic Bread! By the way, the garlic bread is also just right --buttery, toasty and the perfect amount of garlic. Oh and the portions are large. I always love it that I get to take half the platefull back for lunch the next day. Go try it!

Great food, Lousy Service!. If I were to rate Paesanos on the food alone the review would be much better. However, the service here is pathetic. Upon moving here 2 1/2 years ago my fiance and I quickly fell in love with a couple Paesanos dishes; since then we have dined here 2 to 4 times a month. You would think after that time some of the service staff would remember who we are and at least say hello. It could not be a matter of tipping because we tip generously when the services is good. And when the service is bad, our rule of thumb is usaully no less than 14 percent.

From the time that we began visiting Paesanos, only two servers out of the many we had are worth having again. Their names are Wendy and Donna. Of course we request them everytime we go. If you visit Paesanos ask for one of them, and tip them well, because excellent service needs to be encouraged and rewarded. When we are able to get one of the two, our service is great. When we dont, it never fails the service is lousey. I guess that service reflects leadership because the manager is perhaps one of the most unfriendly people we have met in the food service industry. That speaks volumes, because our family owns and manages several resturants, so we know what we are talking about when we talk about how service should be.



The service here is only getting worse, as there has been many changes to the staff--Unfortunatley, our accumilated dining experiences have been so bad we are considering abandoning or favorite dining spot.

Best Pizza. The pizza has this nice, thin crust that I absolutely love with just the right amount of toppings that isn't too heavy or too skimpy. Fresh ingredients & fresh baked makes it soo irresisstable when the pizza comes out. Yumm

Good Food!. This is a place that we find to be extremely consistant. The food is always wonderful, and the service, although nothing spectactular, offers nothing to complain about either. Not to long of a wait and you are always greeted with a smiling face. I recommend trying the polenta fries.

Lunch can be an ordeal.... I recommend the food and the service is usually pretty good...unless you go during a weekday lunch when all of the State's workers are crowding in. If that's the case expect quite a wait (I average an hour and a half--which cuts into the work day quite a bit).

As far as whether this is a generally recommendable restaurant...of course! Keep in mind that those most likely to rate restaurants are the rare person who got so mad they just wanted to vent somewhere. Paesanos doesn't deserve that. Paesanos Pronto on the other hand...

Great Service; Terrible Pasta; Great Appetizers. I'm surprised to see so many review with "bad service" as the complaint. My beau and I dine here consistently, and they recognize us, know our favorite table, and are unfailingly attentive and polite to us, cheerful and all. We even know the name of our server's baby! We don't wait too long, they check on us frequently, and have never made an error on the tab. In fact, I ordered a shrimp pasta which was probably the worst pasta entree I've ever tasted. I pushed it around, but didn't it. She asked "Oh you didn't care for it?" I shook my head "no" with a smile. When the tab came, she had removed it without even being asked. We do tend to order the same things ... bruschetta (delicious, but not traditional, on thick bread), calamari, and mushroom pizza. The pizza has so much mushrooms on it, it's black with them! So, the "light on toppings" is a bizarre complaint to me. I wish they would bring back the old battered calamari, but the new breaded recipe is good as well. We'll be back next week.

Bad Service. The service is consistently terrible and the wait time (with no bread at an Italian restaurant!) is worse.

Too bad. Wow, such great food only to be overshadowed by lousy customer service. All three times I have been there, they have been understaffed, charged the bill wrong, and taken at least and hour and a half to eat. I gave it three tries, I will no longer eat here.

One of my favorite Sacto restaurants. This is a great place for a casual place to eat. The food is always good and the atmosphere is relaxed and unpretentious.
