The Scene
The sheer vastness of this club can be overwhelming at first, but the layout is straightforward, once committed to memory. Just inside to the right is the fireside lounge and front patio with its own bar, mainly for relaxing and stocking up on free popcorn. Further in is the main dance floor, where everyone from country line dancers to shirtless techno aficionados revel in the sensory experience of the thumping sound system and special effects. A smaller video bar across the hall is often more about posing than grooving, despite inspiration from a wall of 16 TV screens, but can be fun on karaoke and drag revue nights. Outside, the homey vibe on the heated enclosed patio encourages mingling and flirting.

The Draw
Faces has been considered one of the hottest River City gay bars since it opened in 1985, but it also attracts a big straight crowd, particularly on the weekends.

Know Before You Go

The bar requires a minimum of $40 for credit-card purchases, but won't run a tab. Instead, they'll charge the full amount and give you the difference back in cash with no service charge.

Look Good

Use the coat check on the way into the main room if you've got a jacket.

When to Go

On Friday and Saturday, you can party across the street at the Depot until 4am.

I've been going to Faces for many years now and one thing is for certain... Everyone is welcomed and the energy in the club is positive. It may be best for individuals who prefer dress codes and limited participation to perhaps locate a more prestigious lounge like environment where open mindedness is limited and true intellect rarely found!!!! Don't ruin it for the rest of us (the majority of the populous)!!!! Stay away if you like while everyone else who is less critical regarding their perspectives of other people within our wonderfully diverse society celbrates our existence and has the time of our life!!!!!

Since the remodel I heve been there once and will not go back. They should have a dress code. Its a upscale atmosphere but when they start letting in the rift raft who look like they just come from the beach with their sandle it brings the class down. The bars and drinks are great, but they need to have a dress code.
