Luau Garden - it's been around a while and I hope it stays!. I've been eating at Luau Garden for more than 20 years. I've found that the food overall is better than most other buffets. It's rarely dry unlike some places I've been to where the food looks like it's been under the heating lamp for several hours.

Of course the place has it's highlights and it's lowlights. I would suggest avoiding the orange chicken. It's coated in pure sugar and lacks any real citrus taste.

The other stir-fry dishes range (they vary from day to day) from average to very good. The American food that is provided as a service to those who do not like Chinese food, is not that great but may appeal to those who cannot tolerate spices. The seafood choices are small and might be the lowpoint to some people (not me!)

The highlights of Luau are the BBQ Pork, BBQ ribs, and the Brandy Fried Chicken. My husband wants to add that the Broccoli Beef and Beef Chow Fun are quite good, too. The fried rice and the chow mein are okay - not spectacular but not horrible. My niece finds the wonton soup quite satisfying and great if you have a cold and need some comfort food. For dessert, try the ice cream machine!

A hint, once you know what items you like, try the takeout. It's often much cheaper than eating at the buffet.

I've always found the place comfortable but some of the booths are getting old. The heat or the a/c works. A previous reviewer said it was very warm in the building. Perhaps the a/c needing fixing that day as I have never found it a problem.

Overall, I love this place. I cannot find food like this anywhere else in this region. Due to the numbers of businesses failing, the lack of Chinese and Hawaiian food is quite distressing. Hang in there Luau!!!

Too Hot and Too Expensive. For the price it was not worth it. It was so hot I was sweating and then the food was dried out from all the heat. I won't be back during the summer and if some they don't get some business soon they won't be here are this summer.

The food was ok. The food was ok, however the price was not worth it, they should lower the price due to the slumping economy, i noticed that the after church crowd wasn't participating at this location, in the past we had to wait on a table, if they lower the price on the buffet they may make a profit on the place, we will not participate until they lower the price,

One of the better chinese buffets around. Great Service. They have a larger variety of both Chinese and American food. Food is fresh. The interior is old but the service, and food makes up for that.

Perhaps the best Chinese buffet bargain in town!. Reasonably-priced (especially during the lunch hour!) Chinese buffet, which also serves some non-Asian food as well. Their brandy-fried chicken is to die for! Also, they serve BBQ pork spare ribs, and BBQ beef ribs, both of which are very good. Service is good and attentive. Decor isn't great though, and their buffet dishes could use more variety. Their salad offerings aren't impressive, but their hot dishes is really what make up the most in this recommendation. Since it is in a shopping mall area (not far from Arden Fair), it is convenient to park around there.
