Tips for Jimboy's Tacos

a sacramento treat. I love Jimboys (pronounced YIM BOYZZ with two zs). Its greasy goodness is a Sacramento treat. The location I frequent most often is on 29th street in downtown Sacramento (each location is slightly different) my second favorite being the location on Auburn Blvd, near American River College. There are three items I enjoy on the Jimboys menu (but I never have the stomach to order them all at once). First of all, I like to get the non-greasy vegetarian burrito (beans, cheese, lettuce, tomatoextra for sour cream and guacamole), the bean and cheese burrito (grilled to artery clogging perfection) and the bean taco (beans, cheese, lettuce, tomato, with parmesan cheese on the outer shell). Jimboys has a great salsa bar, and they always have beer.

Best Greasy Tacos in the West!. If you're looking for Fresh Mex, don't go to JimBoy's! But, if you like a tasty taco with a slightly crisp shell sprinkled with parmesan, seasoned beef nested in grated cheese and shredded iceberg lettuce, then you can't beat Jimboy's 99-cent tacos (or 79 cents on Sundays at some locations).

Out of all the chains in Sac, my favorite Jimboy's by far is the location at Denio's flea market in Roseville. Nothing beats a few Jimboy tacos and bargain-hunting for junk and treasures on a Sunday morning. Some flea market shoppers even top this great breakfast off with a glass of beer from the roving keg on the golf cart. Can you say "Cousin Eddie"? Nonetheless, Jimboy tacos will be the one thing I will miss most whenever I leave Sac.

No Lard used in this food!. The last review referring to greasy food only assumed the use of lard. He or she may not be aware that most of today's Mexican food chefs and cooks no longer use lard. Jimboys Restaurant is one which doesn't use lard.

In my experience, I didn't find the food greasy. I enjoyed the most traditional Mexican taste which reminded me of my taste experience as a child. Fast, delicious food with alot to choose from a large menu! Even with a long lunch time line for the drive thru, service was quick & friendly. What a nice lunch treat experience.

Greasy Tacos. Jimboys has the greasiest tacos in town. Their taco salads are OK, but everything else is so laden with lard and grease, it makes a mess inside and out.

'Da Best Tacos in Sac!. I'd walk a mile to get a Jim Boy Taco. Really! My friends thought I was crazy to love Jim Boy's so much. It's one of the few things I miss in Sacramento. Jim Boys should seriously think of starting a franchise on the island of Kauai. The Mexican Food Sucks here!
