Editorial Review for Cornerstone Restaurant – by Angela Schurhoff

The Scene
Frantically hungry people set to the task of getting their names on a long waiting list, then join the masses on the sidewalks vying for a shady outdoor table next to the newspaper stand. This is a true townie spot, abuzz with eccentric personalities, bodies adorned with tattoos and yuppies in spandex.

The Food
Plates piled high with home fries, eggs and greasy bacon are paraded through the tiny, worn restaurant and outside until they reach their rightful owners. Pancakes, French toast, omelets, eggs Benedict: You name it, if it's an a.m. dish, it's on the menu. Oh, and you can get lunch, too. Although the food doesn't warrant standing around for half an hour, it satisfies your early morning cravings. Many of the dishes that sounded tasty, like the artichoke sausage scramble and the biscuits and gravy, were bland. Ask for a bottle of Tobasco and you'll be fine.

It was alright. No kid items and hardly a selection. Kinda dirty and unorganized.Service was junk. Don't really need to go back.

Pros: mom and pop feel. Good bacon.

Cons: Service is junk ,not a good selection an food and some food not edible.

I finally went into Cornerstone Cafe after seeing a ridiculous amount of people whenever I would pass by on the weekends. The prices are cheap, but unfortunately, it reflects the quality of the food. I don't eat meat, and I had a really difficult time finding anything that would work for me. Finally, I settled on an a veggie omelet with cheese. I was disgusted when I saw my "cheese" omelet simply had the weirdo plastic single servings type cheese melted on top it. I couldn't even eat it. Maybe they have plenty of fine items for meat eaters, but I really don't recommend it for vegetarians. Although it was fun to sit outside on a nice day, and do some people watching.

Pros: Nice to sit outside with friends.

Cons: Funky food.
