Harlow's Restaurant & Night

A good time all the time. My wife and I have been to Harlow's half a dozen times to see bands we like and it's been enjoyable every time. We've never encountered rude staff or weak drinks or any of the complaints I've read about here--makes me wonder about the other side of the story. It is important to know what the entertainment is on a given night, if you're into classic rock or Americana roots music then you probably won't enjoy the nights when they have a DJ playing mating ritual music for people half your age. The closest I can come to a complaint is sometimes the PA is cranked up too loud. But we always look forward to going back and seeing a great concert at close range for a reasonable price; Harlow's is a place we recommend.…

Untrustworthy Staff. I went there for a live band performance on 12/18/09 and opened a tab for my drinks using a Visa Gift Card. Conveniently they could never find my card after that. I asked the staff and no one knew where it was, which is unfortunate because it had $40 on it.…

A night from Hell. December 19, 2009 - a night from hell. I have visited Harlows for as long as I can remember, and have always raved about how much fun I had at this establishment. I have brought many friends to Harlows and I have recommended this place many times.

Saturday December 19, 2009 was my last visit to Harlows. A total of 8 people in my group arrived at approximately 9PM, and we were having fun. We got some pretty good seats, directly in front of the dance floor on a nice couch with chairs around us. At around 11:30, a waitress came over to our place that we had been seated for more than two hours, and told us that we had to move because they had overbooked the VIP section and that they were going to put some people in our spot. We really didn't want to move, but we were told that we would have to pay $50.00 if we wanted to stay. Pay $50 to stay in seats that we were already sitting at? FOR REAL PEOPLE? quickly, two very large bouncers came over to extracate us from the premises... WOW, what the heck happened to CUSTOMER SERVICE PEOPLE? Needles to say, I will NEVER set foot in that establishment again... Unfortunate too, I really liked this place. The owner came over to talk to the bouncer, and since i had met him before, I expressed my disconcern with their poor judgement in evicting us - he just justified their actions. Paying the $50 would not have found a seat for the people that were displacing us!!!! Where is the reasoning...

My personal opinion, avoid this place at all costs...…
