Sorry. Andiamo's is no longer open; it is closed; shut down; out of operation; belly up; shuttered; couldn't overcome the weak kitchen. I hope that is 100 characters.
Diners like this seductive spot for Italian and American comfort food..
The Scene
Classical jazz plays in the background. Servers dressed in ties and button-down shirts cater to a mixed crowd of coeds and baby boomers. Small touches like the dark wood accents lend formality to this Italian-American eatery while the bar and service keep the atmosphere cozy. Local bands playing R&B and covers entertain the mature crowd unwinding at the bar after a long day.
The Food
A bounty of fresh, flavorful Italian classics and substantial American fare fill the menu with dishes like prime rib and grilled, herbed pork chops. Try the orecchiette with white beans and chard in a spicy tomato sauce and the highly praised veal capperi scaloppini with oyster mushrooms, lemon caper berries, white wine and garlic. Skip anything prepared with the house balsamic vinaigrette, which rejects the traditional crisp clarity for a creamy effect.
Good service, OK Food. We go to Andiamo's because it is a few blocks away from our home. We have learned that you don't always get what you ordered. We once got cold coffee served to us. We once got shells in our crab omlet. We beleive that they have the best salads in town!
Best kept secret. We just love it there. We're so lucky to live near by. We always get seated right away and it's great for lunch or dinner and the bar's not too shabby either. We've been to a few functions in their rooms. We even had our wedding reception there. Food is always supurb.
Don't even stop..Just Drive on by..
We always heard that ANDIAMO was comfort Food so we thought we would give it a try. We should have known by so few tables filled on a Friday night, something is very wrong. We ordered Calamari. At first glance it was ok, but after eating a few pieces we realized it was drenched in oil (about 1/4 cup under the doily)
Awful. The Veal Picatta($18.95) had a burnt brown sauce with these olives on top, zuchinni that was mush and a mound of pasta. The Filet($23.95) was butterflied and tasteless. Same vegetables and a bland mashed potatoes, in which we left on the plate.
Overall, save your money. There is no talent in their kitchen, we could have had a excellent steak at Biba for less!!!!
