New Owners. Old hungover, gambeling, druggin bartenders are long gone. New seasoned bartenders are attentive and sure to help you relax and enjoy yourself. The vibe is pretty relaxed here which I love in a neighborhood tavern. Make friends with the guy on the stool next to you....its worth it. This place has been around since 1946, and the regulars are damn proud of it. I have added this to a regular watering hole because its a precious little secret....and I like secrets. The crowd is all over the place...another bonus!

It's a bare-bones bar, where the main entertainment is whatever's in the glass in front of you.. The Scene
It's a long, narrow bar, bright in the afternoon, dim in the evening. Except when the Kings are playing, the atmosphere remains mellow in this friendly little space. If you're looking for a place to chat, the sound level's manageable most of the time, and the booths along the wall make for cozy perching. The bar offers free popcorn and one of the few cigarette machines left in Sacramento. Take advantage of the $2 well drinks, dartboards and golf video game. Challenge the friendly, attentive bartender to a game of liar's dice, or lose your money in the jukebox instead, which has the standard dive-bar mix of '70s rock, new wave and radio-friendly alt rock.

The Crowd
Regulars hail from the surrounding residential neighborhood; much of the clientele has simply walked across the street.

Small. This place is really-really small, but it has it's own crowd, I would actually stop here & drink then go to a club, it has the college crowd. keep in mind this is a standing bar that is really squished unless someone decides to get up from a booth, this is just a bar with a lot of college people drinking!
