bartenderme com supports Limelight bar!!!. bartenderme com is a great place to find local events. We saw that someone posted an event for limelight and had people check it out. Great food, and a nice environment that you can relax in. bartenderme com supports limelight and its business.

One of the worst bars in Sac!. The negative reviews are far from old or inaccurate. The only people that give this place a positive review are the ones that work there, friends of the employees or the click that hangs out in there. If this place were to rely on new customers or visiting patrons it would finally close down. If you do a little background check on the employee's, (yes even some of the current bouncers) and the practices of the staff you would not be comfortable or safe with your findings. In addition you have some of Sacramento County's Finest ( Sac PD) that hang out there on a regular basis.

Makes you wander.......why is it they never get in trouble for the actions that would get other establishments fined, closed or liquor licence revoked. Now they mix gambling into it even more.

Watch you back in this place,.....it's only a matter of time.

The return of the Slimelight!. This Bar is rapidly returning to it's status of the 80's when it was affectionately known as known as the "slimelight". A fair portion of the staff is becoming known for unprofessional attitude, disrespectful comments towards women, ethnic slurs etc.... The management is aware of the actions of the staff and blatantly disregard it fallowed by a smirk. The surrounding business's and some of the employers have commented or made reference that the bar commonly has issues. It is also known that a fair number of law enforcement officers frequent the establishment when not on duty, yet the actions still persist! (WOW,...this makes anyone feel safe (right!!!) One patron even stated, "they think they are untouchable because they have cops come in here." So sure if you want to listen to crude and derogatory comments made to women, deal with confrontational bouncers & staff along with management ("Mr.H") that condones & ignores the unprofessional actions, by all means grab a drink there! After all they do make a good cheap drink and have a card room. Heaven forbid you ever expect professionals from this place!!!! The are too many decent places downtown to spend your money at, few of them just around the corner!

2008 - Best Sacramento Poker & Blackjack with Great Food and Fun Bar. The review is very old. The Limelight is both a bar-pub and poker card room. On the bar-pub side there is a good bar staff cheap drinks and lots of great beer choices, multiple TVs and plasmas in the bar area, the same in the cafe, plus an out door patio with a plasma, all great for watching sports or just relaxing with a drink. The food is typical pub fare with low prices $6-$14 and very tasty. The bar on Fri or Sat. is a both a locals and college groups hang out. All ages will feel comfortable.

The card room is a tight space with 7 or 8 poker tables and 1 blackjack table in the cafe. The ambiance feels like an old style cardroom (not like a brightly lit bingo parlorl) Open 24/7 the Limelight features poker tournaments twice a day, limit and no-limit holdem, lo-ball and the best No-Limit Texas Holdem action in Sacramento. The poker room is fairly well run, with fast seating, friendly staff, and the the lowest collection rate $3 in Sacramento (no Jackpot here). The only negative is the parking, there is almost no parking at the limelight. To park use the Safeway - Bank Parking across the street.

Livin' in the Limelight. I had a great dinner experience here, and am looking forward to checking out their lunch scene. Me and the boys are heading down today!

This description is out of date. The Limelight is fun and friendly. If you are a repeat customer the staff will take great care of you. Groups CAN have fun. The patio IS great. There are NO more pool tables or videogames and a few more poker tables in back. But there is a new plasma screen in the back, there is a fun trivia game in the front, a fantastic jukebox and great regulars. Come enjoy!

WHAT HAPPENED TO THIS PLACE?. A group of us had breakfast there a few weeks ago. The service used to be excellent and the food excellent. We had a terrible experience. There was not enough wait staff and it left us with out coffee, water and our meals took for ever.

A laid-back East Sacramento hangout for casual crowds, with a hip patio and generous drinks.. The Scene
From the back cardroom to the latticed-in patio, this drinking-and-eating spot brings back repeat customers, especially on the weekends and for lunch. A few suits may be scattered in the crowd, but this is definitely a casual bar--though the expanded dining room might try to be a touch elegant. The Limelight keeps the mood social with two pool tables, pinball and a golf video game.

The Crowd
People playing in the cardroom. Law students and nearby employees dropping in for big, inexpensive meals (sandwiches earlier in the day, meatier entrees at dinner).

Drinks
The drinks are basic. A few beers on tap. The standard run of mixed cocktails. But it's all generous and reasonably priced. Perfect for drinkers who know what they want and don't want it watered down.
