A treasure hunt for book lovers.. The Scene This is a down-to-earth book shop for both avid readers and collectors. Their specialty? Literature, history, poetry and humanities. Owners Rachel and Richard Hansen bring their toddler to work, but worries about ripped pages and chewed up bindings are unnecessary--the expensive stuff is up on the high shelves.
The Books History Channel addicts will be happy to find an entire bookcase loaded with World War II literature, including first edition military material. The section on philosophy and religion is also impressive, with writings on Buddhism, the feminine archetype and early Christianity and English Lit majors will devour the stacks of hardcover classics. You won't find any modern day children's books around. Instead, hunt for the tried and true Nancy Drews or Chronicles of Narnia.
The Extras The bargain bin, located outside the shop on the sidewalk, is full of interesting things at prices that make it okay to be adventurous in your selections.
