Alhambra Athletic Club, Sacramento, CA. I’ve been a member of Alhambra Athletic Club since 2003. The last several months I’ve noticed that the front desk staff had become less friendly and unprofessional. On one occasion I noticed one of the staff arguing with a member because he had forgotten to bring his membership card with him. On another occasion I arrived at the club and a member told me that she had been waiting at the front desk for five minutes and no one was there to check her in. well, tonight it happened to me. I arrived at the club and a woman at the front desk was on the phone engaged in some sort of an argument. She looked at me and turned the other way as though I was intruding on her privacy. I waited a couple of minutes and I waived my card to her, hoping she’d acknowledge my presence and check me in, but she totally ignored me. I waited a few more minutes while listening to her arguing with someone about payment for his or her lost card. Finally, another staff showed up to check me in, but by that time I was so frustrated, I asked to speak to a manager. Much to my dismay, I learned that the woman on the phone was indeed the manager of Alhambra Athletic Club.

Convenient Location, Third Class Facility. This place is convenient for professionals working and living in the downtown area. Everything is old and broken and stays that way for a longtime before it gets fixed. Hallway is always cluttered with people working out in there and blocking it for other to walk around. People place exercise equipments right in the middle of the hallway and start working out. Management has no policy for this mess and it becomes very difficult to get around. Half of the soap dispensers dont work and no one cares. Hot tub is often broken. Mens lockers do not have AC and it gets very hot in there. Racquette ball courts in the back are always hot or cold (no ac or heater). They always plan to do the repairs at the bussiest time of the week causing inconcenience to the patrons. This place need some help or my friends and I will go somewhere else. I have been a member here for lst 10 years.

Alhambra Athlectic Club. I was a previous member at this gym it's a great gym but very bad management you have to come in to cancel membership they try to make it harder to quit so they can keep billing you even though you haven't been there in weeks never give them automatic withdraw control. I finally went down there and quit they told me the best times to come but had already taken the money out andthey are taking forever to refund the money i cancelled the account to make sure of no future withdraws.

BASICLY GREAT GYM BUT MONEY HUNGRY WITH BAD SERVICE...

High Potential. This gym has probably one of the best locations in the area, being one of only two or three gyms in the area. (gym in the traditional sense of the term) It has good facilities, but its management is just horrid. Honestly, I dont know anything about running a gym, but based on past experience with other gyms, Alhambra is bad. Several liabilities throughout the gym, including holes in the weight room's floorboard, and only covered by carpet. Thats just one example. Further, this gym is way too expensive. However, considering the choices, it's all thats available if you live in midtown/east sacramento/ downtown. Putting those aside, it has what you need from a gym.

Bad service. It's pretty clear two of these reviews were written by staff members of this gym. I saw the same reviews, word for word, on another site.

I went to take a tour and the staff was rude and unhelpful.

Good Gym, BAD Management. This is a nice gym, clean good equiptment, nice pool, etc. The customer service/management however are unhelpful, do not return phone calls, and only care about their fees. the gym is nice, but if you eveer have to talk to the managment expect rude treatment and walking away with a bad taste.
