Best place in the Sacramento Area. Braodway Bait Rod and Gun is the best outdoorsmans store in the Sacramento Area. They are open at ungodly hours for the early outdoorsman. The bait you need is almost always in for you fisherman. Having a duck plucking and cleaning service is a back and time saver. Any one that can save me an hour and a half to pluck and clean my birds at a reasonable price will always get my business. With the other outdoorsman type stores in the area opening at 9 or 10 am i am surprised they are still in business. Thank you Broadway Bait Rod and Gun. You have a fan for life.…
Worth a visit.
When you crack the door at BBR&G you are assailed with the stench of warm fishing bait, if you can get over that, it is worth a visit.
BBR&G has an excellent location for those of us on this side of Sac, it's easy to find, easy to park, sells licences and passes, and chances are that if you need something for Hunting or Fishing, you are going to find it there a solid 80% of the time.
It's not a big-box store, it doesn't cater to yuppies in thier Landrovers, you often trip over merchandise cause the place is so packed, but it is worth going there if you need something or just want to browse.
This place also ain't no In 'n Out where everyone is happy to see you at all times, you are at the mercy of who is behind the counter, and I have personally had that run from extremely helpful, freindly folks to folks who didn't want to see customers when I crossed the threshold. Every one of them, helpful or not, are extremely knowledgeable about hunting and fishing.
Overall, it is usually my first stop for hunting and fishing gear, and I would recommend it for anyone, just don't go expecting to be coddled..…
Kind of Shady. A Hunting Buddy of mine went there to have some birds cleaned and When I got my birds home to cook. The Wings were missing. I'm not sure about most people but to me the wings are the best part of the bird. It's already expensive to have birds cleaned there @ $3.75 a bird but to have your wings taken too.…
Gives me the creep!!!!. everytime I go in there the whole place gives me creeps. Not to mention the weird staff in all. This place is not for everyone.
