Best happy hour, really good beer. The food at happy hour was good and affordable. The beer is really good. Service was good. I will definitely go again.
Great food and awesome beer!.
Great Food - This is not your typical brew pub food. Gourmet concepts and presentations, fresh local ingredients, and seasonal menu changes result in an outstanding wide array of variety and flavor that will make your mouth water and mind melt.
Awesome Beer - Hoppy Brewing Co. is, after all, a brewery. And in this humble author's opinion, brews the best beer around. The staples of their flagships are simple; quality ingredients, excellent knowledge, and infinite patience. Simply buying a glass of beer here is contributing to the forward progress of a mankind tradition since recorded history.
Cool People - From the owner to the night porter, everyone is professional, courteous, kind, and helpful. Any request is accommodated. Clearly the culture of the company is a cornerstone of it's success -- people of all walks of life will enjoy the atmosphere, ambiance, and accommodation of the very cool people at Hoppy.
So ... eat, drink (a lot, I might add), and BE HOPPY :o)
Avoid the complex.
Over a year ago when I first wanted to go to Hoppy Brew, they were closed. For animal infestation, for the 2nd time. Tonight my husband and I decided to give it one more shot as the place looked packed. Dinner, app's were great-- The Cheddar Beer Soups is really yummy and the roasted head of garlic was an amazing app. But the Cajun Rib Eye had little to no flavor, the fish and chips were good but the coleslaw was runny. If you want coffee with your dessert, bring your own or go some where else. I recommend somewhere else. I ordered a White Chocolate Eclair Torte Cheese Cake (AKA- the dessert with identity issues) I took one small bite and noticed this tasted stale, had been left in the walk in to long and decided to give a benefit of a doubt to it and take a second bite, while i was trying to 'cut' a peice with the side of my fork the cake tipped over reveling the mold growing on the crust and the sides of my dessert. I will hand it to my waiter-- he took care of it in no time flat. In fact the waiter and food expiditer were the hightlight of the meal. Very nice, clean and personal.
I know that I have neglected the important thing-- the beer. The beers here are great, and the hard Pommagrante Cider was just out of this world. I will go back to the Hoppy Brew, but only for the brew.
hoppyweisen is sooooooo yammy. I loved that place. food is great, drinks are yammy, service is pleasant. so much better than portland brewery. this one is more like an upper restaurant, with really reasonable prices, and everything tastes good. if you like brews, you should try it!!!
Good Beer. This place is unique inside, the abience is very warm and you feel ike you could stay there and chat for awhile. The food is pretty good, the beer is pretty yummy, and I Would definitely recommend their Hefeweizen.
Maybe the beer is good?.
I am not a beer drinker but I decided to come here with a friend who is and try the food.
All I can say is that it was bland and tasteless...I hope the beer is better!
consistently good for us.
we go at least monthly, to enjoy beer with burgers or Fish and Chips.
Its all very good and very consistent.
Big portions, blue-ribbon brews and can-do attitude. But this alehouse lacks flavor of Sacramento's full-bodied brewpub scene..
The Scene
"Great Food, Awesome Beer, Cool People!" This slogan and Hoppy's smiley sunbeam logo set up a bold expectation for Hoppy Brewing Company to live up to. While friendly servers make the grade, the straight-edged interior is a bit too square for its own good. However, a giant television helps Hoppy win brownie points with big-game broadcasts.
The Food
Kettle chips and dip are delicious, and meal portions are eye-poppingly huge. That always helps at places where quality varies. Upon one of our visits, the pastrami sandwich was crusty and dry. The picata pasta, a creamy, heavy mess. And while ribbons weigh down the walls, even Hoppy's award-winning beers are ambitious but can lack the personality seen in other microbrews.
