The menu is pretty expansive, and has the usual dishes you would expect, but the quality was phenominal. The pork was lean, but still tender and moist, the egg foo-young was not what you would imagine (if you're used to the Chinese style), it was much, much, better, and the decor was even pleasant. We shared a the egg roll appetizer, BBQ pork and egg foo-young rice plate, and pork and prawn bun -and it was all under $20. The place was clean, service was attentive, and food was excellent. We will definitely go back!!
good food, filthy floors. We ordered the cha gio and pho; the cha gio (egg rolls) were mediocre, but the pho was very tasty. Service wasn't too bad, sort of your typical Vietnamese restaurant experience - things are brought out as they're ready, regardless of whether they may be appetizers, entrees, etc. The biggest problem with this restaurant was that the floors were filthy. There were huge splotches all over the floor where something wet had obviously been spilled and then dirt stuck to the wet spot. It was really unappetizing. If they allow the dining portion of the restaurant to go what must have literally been days without mopping, then how often do they clean the kitchen, where diners can't see? I could never eat here again. It's a shame, because the pho was pretty good.
Excellent Pho. The pho here is superior compare to most Vietnamese restaurants lining Stockton Blvd. As the other reviewers stated the prices are reasonable and the portions are generous. I did encounter some dirt on my lettuce once, this was on a very busy day. It's probably best to go when it's not so busy.
Great Vietnamese Food!!!. Saigon's food is excellent. I have tried several Vietnamese resturants in the Sacramento are and this is one of the best in the South area. The soups are excellent as well as the BBQ, everything I have tried has been excellent. The prices are reasonable for the quality of the food. The resturant is not much to look at but the food is so good you forget about your surroundings. If you like Vietnamese food and are in the Sacramento area you must go Saigon.
Good Large Portions. Vietnamnese restuarants aren't generally fancy unless they're fusions places like Slanted Door or something. This place is a very casual, cafeteria-family style place, with impersonal but quick service. The portions are generous, the selections is large, and the prices are great. They have more than just pho noodles, but also curry and Chinese-style selections.
