Texas? Not hardly...
Not sure how an ex-roofer from Stockton who's never set foot in Texas came to name his BBQ joint after the lone-star state, but the food certainly isn't the reason.
The service and attitude here are outstanding, the room could seat 3 football teams, and the prices are bearable. From there, it's mostly downhill.
Chicken was a little dry, probably not their fault, it's the inadequate size of their smoker and cooking techniques that should share the blame.
The beef was overtrimmed, unflavorful, and a little on the dry side. Sauce and sides were ok, but otherwise, the menu was uncreative and all blends together (not enough distinct flavor) Like most of the locals, they just don't smoke their meats long enough.
I've heard their catering options are reasonable, if you're looking to have them come to you, otherwise skip the drive.
