Locals skip the chains for hand-made patties and huge fistfuls of crisp fries at this crowded favorite..
The Scene
Weekdays are crowded with locals on the go. Families pack the place on the weekend.
The Food
Hand-formed burgers, made with fresh lettuce, tomato and Ford's special sauce, range from the kiddie-sized to the Pounder. The small bag of skin-still-on fries can feed an army; and Ford's serves up burger alternatives like grilled chicken, hot ham and cheese, and a juicy turkey burger for the no-red-meat crowd. The menu is highlighted by burgers and the ham and cheese on a sourdough bun. Milkshakes are thick and rich. Don't order an individual order of fries for each person. A small is enough for a crowd.
Mediocre. My eating experience at Ford's Real Hamburger's was mediocre. The outside patio seating is nice, but the hamburgers need more taste. If you're looking for a good hamburger, skip this place.
Not your fast food Hamburger!. One of the best tasting hamburger you will ever have. We you take the cost/size of a fast food resturant, Ford's will win every time.
Ford' Fabulas Flavor. Ford uses the best meat in town and unlike others the meat has taste. In most hamberger joints there isn't a taste other than the sauce. Fords allso has the best Fries.
Tasty Top Sirloin burger. Once you have had a Ford's top sirloin burger with sour dough bun & whole potato fries you become spoiled by the zestful flavor & then you crave it until the next time. Oh & the milkshakes are so thick you have to eat with a spoon! It is well worth the 10 minute wait.
Ford's is the best!. I normally go to the Ford's on Fair Oaks Blvd. in Carmichael but nothing is lost. I get bacon cheese burgers which are always thick and juicy, the cheese tastes like they just cut it fresh form the wheel and they spare no expense on bacon which looks like something fresh off the plate of breakfast on the farm. The fries are a steal given that you get like half the gross domestic product of Idaho in every bag. The shakes are all as good as any in town. Hoagy's Korean BBQ on Walnut was a little better but they are under new management and I haven't been by lately. Also worthy of plugs are Hungry Hollow on Manzanita and Winding which is the best mom and pop on the east side and Nubbin's in Old Roseville.
The Bomb Football. I think this hamburger is just the BOMB, it is huge, filling and full of wonderful flavor. The special sauce is to die for. I think the place "ROCKS".
