The Scene
Tucked into a rockin' A-frame building near Sacramento City College, this ski shop has a casual, funky atmosphere, with good jazz on the radio and long, wooden skis (from the 1930s) hanging on the walls.
The Goods
Now past their 20th year in business, this shop specializes in ski stuff, both cross-country and Alpine, with a full fashion selection and plenty of boots, skis and bindings to choose from. The service department specializes in ski tuning, mounts, boot fittings and custom insoles. You'll find only a smattering of snowshoes and snowboards, but if you need a backpack or a water bottle, sorry.
