Not great!.
We ate at this restaurant on 10/12/2010 Service was terrible! Food is overpriced and the prices have gone way up. Waiter refused to do seperate checks.
Will not be back, ever!
Great seafood & service overall. In my book; in the midst of community detachment largely due to overpopulation; customer service, mutual attempts at reparation of poor service, and honest quality comes first. Without intending to undo any of the legitimate complaints from previous customers of SS, I have experienced SS customer service and quality of food to be among the best of the restaurants in the area. I'm not a regular, perhaps dining there three to five times a year, and always dress casual, but they've provided consistent and professional services and food from the regular menu and specials that have never disappointed me to date. I hope they continue this calibur and also improve on other areas that have been complained about.
If you like Vibrio Parahaemolyticus then go there_Poor Food_poor Service.
On 9-13-08 I visited Scott?s Seafood @ Loemanns Plaza in Sacramento. Taking my elderly parents out for dinner my treat. The restaurant didn?t appear to be to busy.
We were seated promptly but that?s were the night went wrong. We ordered and the service from the kitchen was extremely slow, we went through two baskets of bread before we received our salads. We should have got up and went elsewhere. But it was my decision to stick it out finally after another 30 min wait we received our entree?s and frankly for the price I have received better quality at Red Lobster. And to top it all off I thought I had a good dinner until I got violently sick the following Monday 9 hours of emptying my stomach both entry and exit and extrememe pain plus another 10 hours in Kaiser's Emergency Room Receiving IV, pain meds, meds stop nausea, I lost a day of work. My $100 dollar dinner for three turned into $500 not including the pain it caused. On a scale of 1 to 10 with ten being the worst pain this was an 11. I am 100% sure that Scott?s was to blame the Lab results came back with Vibrio Parahaemolyticus which was reported to Sacto Health Dept.
This is a fair warning don?t go there unless you like pain
I have not received one word of an apology from them at all.
( I have a receipt that I gave to the Health Dept. that I proves that I was there and Lab Results.)
So I will tell as many people as I can to avoid Scotts Seafood like the plague.
Inhospitable.. We live nearby and visited this restaurant in the morning (about 9AM) while on a walk with our small dog. We asked the host if we could have a breakfast on the terrace. She confirmed that the dog was not a problem and invited us to walk around two corners to approach the terrace from the outside. After arriving at the terrace we found that no tables were set for breakfast and ALL doors leading to the restaurant were closed. We waited for a while then realized this was the sign that we were not welcome and left. This used to be a nice neighborhood with friendly people. Not anymore.
NOT WORTH IT. SMALL PORTIONS, TASTELESS, WAY TOO PRICEY FOR THE AMOUNT OF FOOD THAT YOU RECEIVE ON YOUR PLATE. IF YOU WANT JUST TO IMPRESS SOMEONE , THEN GO.
great seafood !. My 3rd visit to this great seafood spot is definetely the best restaurant experience I've had in a long time. The service was impeccable from host to sommelier to waiters, very knowledgeble and caring staff. The food was wonderful, the presentation was beautiful. We had the chef tasting menu; just perfect. I'm very impressed.
Service great, food mediocre. My friends and I went to Scott's Seafood for our annual Christmas dinner. Prior to going, I read the reviews about the bad service, so I paid extra attention to this. We must have gotten lucky, because our server was great! She was attentive and had a wonderful personality. However, the food was just mediocre, nothing special. The portions were small and everything is a la cart. With those prices, it would have been nice to include a soup or salad with the dinners. Will have to think if we'd go back considering it was quite pricey.
really good shellfish!.
I went to Scott's for the first time a few weeks ago. I'm new to sacramento and it was highly recommended. I had their tower of shellfish, with oysters, muscles, calamari, and crab legs. It was amazingly good, very fresh. The raw oysters are excellent (if you like raw oysters, that is!)
My only complaint is the price, more than $30 for the dish. But you do get an amazing aray of foood. My dinner date at the swordfish, which he says was fine too.
I just don't get the enthusiasm for this place. Took my parents there to impress them, and I was embarrassed due to the poor service and mediocre offerings. The waiter seemed insulted when I told him my father was lactose-intolerant and to be careful to avoid any butter or cheese in his meal. The entree came with the promised butter, anyway. Bringing the mistake to the waiter's attention just made things worse. The waitress was baffled at our requests for refills of our iced tea and coffee. It may have been a bad night, but this restaurant in Folsom was unimpressive at best, and I would never go back. Close friends have reported similar troubles with Scott's: poor service, stingy servings, bad seafood. Maybe the rest of the town is going to Scott's on Munroe. Oh well. Maybe I'll give that one a try someday.
Great night out!.
We went there for the first time, and really liked it. We were seated right away, and felt the service was outstanding. We both ordered different Seafood dishes, and both had a delicious meal. It seemed to be a great special date night place, and I think we would go back for sure! I love Crab cakes, and thought they had some of the best I'd ever had!
Enjoy!
