Excellent Ice Cream!.
Leatherby's ice cream is excellent! When our FAMILY indulges in treats, it's at Leatherby's FAMILY Creamery! The ice cream servings are ridiculously large--the prefect size to share with your sweetheart/child(ren). Love the caramel topping with toasted almond ice cream in particular. The prices are right, too! Leatherby's FAMILY Creamery has been a huge supporter in the community for decades. They're a family concern with good, old fashioned FAMILY values. There simply aren't enough solid FAMILY businesses like Leatherby's FAMILY Creamery anymore.
Anyone who speaks against Leatherby's FAMILY Creamery and accuses them of "hate" because they support a cause, simply does not know anything about the business or the FAMILY. The same people would be singing their praises if Leatherby's FAMILY Creamery decided their way on a given issue. Consider the source and the anger behind their detractors, then DECIDE FOR YOURSELF about their ice cream. I believe you'll like it, too!
As for me and my house, we will continue to support Leatherby's FAMILY Creamery! :o)
Leatherby's FAMILY Creamery - A loyal FAMILY friend in the community!
I'd rather eat dirt....... Other than the fact that the Arden way store smells of dirty towels and just being plain dirty, I will not do business with people that say one thing and do the complete opposite. In your interview with the Sacramento Bee, you, Dave Leatherby said, "Let's move on. I always told my children that once a rule was made, you have to abide by it. I think it should be the same in this circumstance. Well, apparently, you DO NOT PRACTICE what you preach. Apparently, you forgot about the court ruling back in June. They said that marriage between two people with the same gender was legal. So, by supporting Prop. 8, I am assuming that you are telling people that it's "OK" for you to go against the law, but, for the opponents of Prop. 8, it's not okay to go against you and all the other supporters of Prop. 8. I too am a Catholic, but I tell you what, I would rather have people of the same gender marry, than worry about what the priests are doing in the rectory or in the confessional. Hey, but it was "OK" for the bishops and the Catholic church itself to just sweep the pedophile priests under the rug. What did the church do about all that? They just moved those priests to another diocese. The Catholic church is just as hypocritical in their doctrine as you are in your so-called religious beliefs. Try living by your advice to your children, you and all the other proponents of Prop. 8 should have "moved on" when the court ruling came down. I hope that one day, you will be put in the same position that you have put the GLBT community in. When that happens, we will all tell you supporters to "Let's move on". It is just so endearing that you are raising 10 more people just like you. God save us all. You seem to be the type that would have kept women from voting, made sure that blacks sat in the rear of the bus and made sure that there would never be inter-racial marriages. Let me reiterate what I said before, you should have "MOVED ON".
Surprised. It's a no-brainer that I will never take my family to Leatherby's again (it's not like they're the only ice cream parlor in town, anyway) after I read about their contribution to Prop 8 on the Bee's web site. I then looked on Leatherby's web site and saw a Utah address. That explains a lot. So this company can and its owners can spend their money to support reprehensible issues if they choose to...I just won't be giving them any more of mine to use for it.
We support you!.
I have not been to Leatherby's since I was a boy living in the Bay Area. However, because of the backlash that your organizaiton is receiving because you excersized your civil right to donate to a cause that you believed in, my family of 9 children and I will now be dining with you on a regular basis. We want you to know that we refuse to be intimidated by those who would limit the very rights of those they accuse of attemting to limit their rights! Way too much hypocrisy!
We will see you soon, I hope your food is good.
Keep your progressive dollars away from here. Though I used to frequent this establishment with my family, I will no longer do so. I am sick to learn that my patronage $$ were used to fund the repeal of GLBT's civil rights in California. I'd rather give my $$ to Gunther's or even Baskin Robbins to avoid this place from now on. Vote with your dollar.
No $$ for Hate. I too will vote with my wallet and not patronize a business that supports discrimination. Equality for all!
Used to be a customer.
Long time customer and supporter but I can no longer be a patron of any company that supports taking away rights of any group. These Pro 8 arguments are the same exact ones we heard back in the days when blacks were not allowed to marry whites in this country. Do you own research, they were "protecting the instituion of marriage" also. What a crock.
All of my family and friends have stopped going to Leatherby's so I can avoid Leatherby's "confusion". So you participate in the annual gay pride event? Next you'll be telling us you have friends that are minorities.
Leatherby's supports hate!. 20,000 donates to Yes on 8??????? Are you kidding me???? WOW, what a bunch of bigots! I'll take my $$$$$ elsewhere.
BOYCOTT LEATHERBYS. Alan Leatherby, General Manager of Leatherby's, made a personal donation of $10,000 to ProtectMarriage (dot) com in support of the hateful and discriminatory Proposition 8. If you are a supporter or member of the LGBT community, or civil rights in general, please boycott this establishment. There isn't a sundae in the world creamy and delicious enough to reverse the damage this family business has sponsored.
Don't waste your time or money unless quantity is more important than quality. I ordered two scoops of two different flavors, butter pecan & some type of chocolate. The butter pecan tasted stale. The chocolate flavor had little shivers of ice throughout and tasted stale. Anyone who really appreciates quality ice cream knows that these are signs of improperly stored and/or old ice cream. The portions may be large, but it's like have a large cowpie instead of a small one. It's still a cowpie. I can't believe someone would have the audacity to compare this cheap quality ice cream to Cold Stone.
