Great for Vegetarian/Vegans! – im a vegan, and they were very willing to help me, and answer all of my questions about what was vegan and vegetarian, and it was actually very filling vegan food. they have excellent customer service, and offer a wide variety of foods. even my friend who does not like any ethnic food found something she could get! i highly recommend this retaurant!
Tastiest buffet – I don't think I've tried a dish here that I didn't like. The tikka masala, eggplant curry, and vindaloo are all amazing. The buffet is great too, with many, many choices. The only downside to this place is that the buffet gets a little pricy, especially for dinner.
I don't know what the fuss is all about – I got to the restaurant and immediately got seated. The lunch buffet was colorful and plentiful but when I sat down the food LOOKED better than it tasted. The entrees were salty, the naan seemed to be all burnt and the service was lackluster at best. I felt that my meal could have better. I love Indian food but Kaveri Madras cuisine was terrible.
Buffet Feast – Curry strikes your senses the moment you step inside. A tidy two-bar buffet offers Indian delectables from chutney to curry to curious desserts. Kaveri's purpose is tasty Southern Indian cuisine, so do not expect atomosphere or continuous attention. You'll be too busy savoring the food anyway.
Amazing Variety! – The weekend buffet at Kaveri is amazing! Although we have tried other buffets in town, none host the kind of variety, the quality of cuisine, or the cleanliness of this establishment! We have moved out of state and are unable to find anything that even comes close to the tastey dishes here. We recommend the Makhani chicken and the Panak Paneer. Incredible!
For beginners or connoisseurs, a delightful and budget-conscious taste of Southern India. – The Scene
Tucked away in a funky strip mall, Kaveri offers some of the finest Indian cuisine in Sacramento. The décor is nothing special: glass-topped tables and a bit of art. Indian music plays softly in the background.
Whether you choose the lunch buffet, a sampler plate or an entrée, the food is delivered hot and delicious. The curry, tandoori and madras dishes are familiar to fans of Indian, but Kaveri puts a Southern Indian spin on its recipes.
What to Order
If this is your first foray, definitely go for the inexpensive buffet lunch. Choose from dozens of dishes, each explained by a note taped to the sneeze guard. Don't miss the saag (spinach) and lentil soup. Use the fluffy, tortilla-ish nan bread to soak up sauces from jars on your table. Order mango chutney as a counteragent to spicy dishes.
Indian food...but don't expect extras – This place is known for its buffet especially on weekends. But dont expect extras like good service ambience etc.,
