Starts out good... ends BAD!

A-L did not contact me until 2 months after I purchased my vehicle. I can't believe a company can operate on such horrible customer relation skills. Everyone that answered the phone was rude and sounded irritated whenever I called. After paying on my loan for 2 years (always on time) I ran into a bad month and barely worked as my daughter was in the hospital for two weeks out of the month. On top of all that my car was a lemon and kept breaking down. I contacted A-L right away to see if we could work out a payment arrangement for the month. They called everyone on my reference list and harassed them and then I would call at 2pm and the phone would just ring and ring... when I finally got thru to the office two days later the lady was rude and said oh our office closes early on Tuesday! So they ended up repo my piece of junk car that I way overpaid their company for and to top it all off I just got in the mail today that they are suing me for the balance. I have never heard of a lender taking someone to small claims court when they repo the car!! It really sucks because when you are buying a car you don't have time when you are signing the agreement to google the lender that the dealership is financing you with so people like all of us whom are really trying to clean up our credit and have an automobile keep getting screwed. Trust me I know the feeling when you feel grateful someone is giving you a second chance so you don't ask questions but if I only have known. Today I would have been much better off never getting a loan from A-L Financial. I truly hope someone can put them out of business soon before they ruin more lives!!
Haven't had a bad experience YET....

I bought a car this weekend and I am in the process of being financed with this company. I knew that because I failed to properly manage my credit in my early years, I would get picked up by a finance company that may not be as "great" as the big guys.
That being said, I am certainly grateful that I'm being given another chance to get my credit straight. But to mirror what alannaknaus said: I put my self in this position so I can't be mad at the finance company for doing their jobs.
The other posts have certainly opened my eyes and i will tread lightly with this company. I plan to pay them via Postal Money Order and am also willing to send my payments to them either certified mail or request delivery confirmation from the post office. This way I have PROOF that they received my payment (if they mess up and misplace it or whatever, I have proof that I sent it to them). Another option I am thinking about is to open a basic checking account and ONLY have this payment automatically debited (if they will even do such a thing) or write the check from the account and mail it as I stated above.
I certainly know that it is MY responsibility to get my payments to them ON TIME and IN FULL, so that is what I plan to do. I know life happens and some things may arise and make it a little tough to always make that happen. I would rather borrow the money I'm short than to have them come take my car away and then hold it hostage or play hide and go seek with it.
I'm not saying my way is the best way, I just know that if this company hadn't decided to give me a chance, I very well may still be riding public transportation or waiting on someone else to have time to taxi me where I need to go.
All I'm saying is this: They may not be the greatest to deal with (many posts here have made that clear), but I know that it cannot only be negligance of the company. We have to acknowledge 3 things: 1. it's likely or credit is shot and this may have been the only option; 2. we were able to get financed despite our poor credit; and 3. we have a history of messing up which may be why this company treats people the way they do.
I plan on proving them wrong in their thought that EVERYONE with bad credit are repeat offenders. I will pay my payment on time each month and try to keep my dealings with them to a minimum.
Enjoy your cars, continue to build your credit and try to re-finance as soon as you can!
T. (2 star rating is because I'm glad they picked up my loan....seems nobody else would)
Not the best but not as bad as these reviews..

I bought a new car financed through these guys back in Sep 2011 and havent had any problems with these guys yet. Maybe they just havent gotten to me yet?
However it seems like a lot of the reviews on here have a few things in common such as late payments, etc. Now ive made all my payments on time, minimum or more, and guess what? No problems.
When i first got financed, i knew they couldnt be the most reputable company because my credit was SHOT, and i was expecting something like 30% interest, which is actually what I got.. :(
Every time i call with a question (ive had several, just general questions), they answer the phone right away and i get a quick, easy answer. Are they your super-cheerful Martha Steward type? No, but they give me my answer and we r done!
I think overall a lot of people on here need to realize that they cant blame this company for your own problems you create. Am I pissed that im paying 30% freaking interest? Hell ya, but its not their fault I royally screwed my credit early on.
I think the bottom line here people need to realize a lot of these scenarios they have created themselves and take responsibility. If youre in a tough spot, they will finance you.. just be nice and pay them their $ and u wont get any probelms! Thanks AL for helping me get a nice new Benz :) Your welcome for all that flippin interest $$.

This company SUCKS!!!!!! They are a complete rip off and the employees are incompetent, inconsiderate, illiterate, ignorant and unprofessional. They repossessed my vehicle because I was 107 dollars behind, 7 days late and I called to let them know that they would be receiving a check for the 107 in three days. The Heffa said that was fine and hours later my car was being towed. It cost me 1600 to get my car back and then I didnt get a statement the following month but I sent them my monthly payment anyway. The following month I got notice saying I overpaid 100 dollars... WTF?? i called and the rep had no clue as to what was going on. THIS COMPANY CAN KISS MY ASS GO TO HELL AND NEVER COME BACK!!!!!!!!!!!
F***ING IDIOTS!!
