If you hate yourself shop at TBE – All I can say is Total Beauty Experience is the MOST Terrible Place to work, But an even worse place to shop. If you spend money there you are stupid not to mention desperate. What a vile, TOXIC place.....No worries shoppers, all of the cameras are for the employee's not the shoppers.....The McCain's have hired drones to watch your every move......But on the other hand the product selection is good.
Great store, they really know what they are doing!! – I was so happy with my trip up to Total Beauty Experience! I am an esthetician so i went to beauty school and have a license so i can go to professional stores and get huge discounts, but there was a product that i wanted that no one in my area had and closest was T.B.E.. Even though i had to pay what everyone else has to pay i was impressed with their knowledge and hospitality. They genuinly cared about me being there. I know that not all went to beauty school there but i can tell that they were trained well by whomever! NICE JOB! i will return whenever i am in sac!
Are we all Crooks? – I've been connected with Total Beauty Experience since they opened their doors. Having worked for a wholesale distributor, John used to purchase a few of his products from our company. I have to admit shopping here gives me a feeling of discontent. Helpers are planted at the end of each aisle, because they are watching for shoplifters, though they are asking if you need help. It's over-kill. I understand shoplifting can be a problem, but the negative energy produced from this method makes shopping feel defensive. Overall John is not friendly unless it's to make a buck.
I WORKED HERE...I KNOW THE TRUTH – Yes, there is an immense selection of products offered at great prices. Wonderful employees who attend regular product knowledge classes. But the ownership is why I left. Employees are instructed to "watch" certain types of people in case they shoplift. These "types" include (no lie...we were told this) young people...teenage to mid twenties, hispanic women and families and any african american people...or others who werent looking their best. I have been working when the owner..John...says jerome and other names cause he thinks hes funny...has physically pushed people out of the store...made people cry...dont worry consumers...he treats his employees just as bad. dont get me wrong...not disgruntled...the compensation was great...but I know how the owners (husband and wife, debbie and john) view others. I know how they treat people. Their kindness is fake...take your business elsewhere...if you shop at total beauty you are supporting and independent business run by two egomaniacs who treat their employees and their clients terribly if you cross them in even the slightest of ways.
wonderful service – So, I was looking to see if they had a website and I got this review page intsead. As I was reading all the comments about the owner John and his crew and wow are you fools serious. The guy is a wonderful man. Would you like people stealing stuff from you? Ofcourse they are going to watch you...As they should! as for bringin stuff back No...I dont want the stuff you have already used. Get a clue people, thay are trying to run a buisness here! Im with him (if thats what he auctally said ,according to one of the reviews) He doesnt need to worrie about you dummies , so go shop somewhere else!
GREAT except for the return policy – This store has a great selection, great prices, they give lots of samples and generally give great service. However, ONLY purchase something there if you KNOW you love it (or are comfortable spending the money on a product / tool that may not work for you that you cannot return). The return policy is pretty much non-existent. You can return regular size bottles of shampoo / conditioner but they haggle over it and it is very uncomfortable. You cannot return any face care / makeup or tools. I would never go anywhere else if the return policy was better - hopefully they will loosen up a little and realize they need to keep up with the times! Especially since there is now an Ulta and a Sephora just down the street with 100% guarantees and no haggling!
Worst customer service in town. – I am surprised after all these years to hear the same thing is going on at Total Beauty. I went there for years (to follow my hairdresser) and would end up buying my hair and face products there as well. ONe day a salesperson sold me the wrong item, I returned it the next week and the owner, John went off on me and said they didn't want my business anyways. I was not the kind of customer he cared to serve! Of course I never went back which is unfortunate for that was the best hairdresser I have ever had.
Total Beauty Experience is a BAD experience - don't go there! – I went to Total Beauty for over 10 years and always loved it until I had a horrible experience there and will never go back and neither will any of my friends or family. I was shopping there with my mother and sister on a quiet Saturday afternoon, we bought about $300 worth of stuff. One thing I got I realized was the wrong product and took it back to exchange it the following Monday evening. When I asked to exchange my face wash that had never been opened and was just purchased 2 days before the owner started questioning me and I said you know who I am I have shopped here for years and he told me he knew me but thought the way my mother, sister and I acted in his store on Saturday made him and his employees feel like we were going to shoplift and that he has so much stuff taken from his store he doesn't know who will shoplift and who won't. We did nothing wrong at all - we just shopped and checked out tons of stuff and then spent a lot of money in his store. Me or my family would NEVER shoplift - that is insane that he felt that he could speak that way to me, especailly since I had been a loyal customer that had spent thousands of dollars there over the years. We went back and forth - as I could not believe he would say these things not to mention in front of several customers. Finally he agreed to exchange the face wash and a nice employee walked me over to get the right product, she kept apologizing for her boss's actions and said how rude he always is. Once my friend (whom was with me) realized what had happened she started to speak to him and he was completely rude to her and they ended up getting into a yelling match. He was SO unprofessional and extreemly rude and I DO NOT reccomend giving your business to Total Beauty Experience, there are plenty of other places now in Sacramento to go. Thanks! :)
Don't shop at Total Beauty Experience. They don't deserve our business. – I have been a long time shopper at Total Beauty, atleast until now! After being treated terribly by one of the "owners" and older lady, whose name I didn't get, I will never shop there again. About six weeks ago, while shopping for facial cleanser and toner, I was looking at two different sizes of toner. I chose the smaller size toner along with some other products and was escorted to the cashier. When I got home I realized that they had sold me two of the exact same toners in two different sizes. I saved my receipt and returned to the store the next day. I was told that I could not get a refund eventhough they had sold me two of the same products. The only thing they were willing to do was exchange it for something else. The lady was extremely rude and unreasonable. I was so disgusted that I vowed never to shop there again. I should have stuck with that, but I decided to give them another try. Yesterday I went in looking for new shampoo and conditioner. I chose a shampoo for $21.95. When I was being rung up the casheir said that the shampoo was mismarked. She walked around the counter and grabbed another bottle, it was marked $24.95. She then proceeded to tell me that eventhough the one I picked up was mismarked I would have to pay the $24.95. I asked to speak to the owner and of course it was the same lady. She was so rude! She said that it didn't matter what the ticket said they would not sell it to me for the price of $21.95. I proceeded to tell them that I was going to leave without buying anything and that I would take my business elsewhere. She said that she didn't care and refused to even look at me. I am so disgusted!! I am a loyal customer who has spent a lot of money there. I urge everyone to stop shopping there!!! They don't deserve our business.
Poor Management – This place has good girls that are helpfull but the Owner does not know how to treat customers. I was never treated so disrespectful in my life. This man name John (owner- i think he lied and called himself jerome in the previous review) can not keep his profesionalism. I was tying to return a product and inreturn I had some ignorant man (John) insult my intelligence. DO NOT GO HERE. I FEEL SORRY FOR THE POOR PEOPLE THAT HAVE TO WORK THERE WITH THAT MAN
