Horrible Experience-DO NOT USE THEM

I tried to rent a nice home through this property manager. First, I called and left my phone numbers--twice. Then I emailed them. NEVER GOT A RESPONSE. I called a third time using their 888 number and got through to a human and made an appointment--they never showed up. I then made another appointment--and they didn't show up because they already rented the property.

almost criminal!

I lived at Los Arcos apartments for about a year and a half. The apt was cool and i enjoyed living there for the most part, but when they redid the roof, my apartment smelled like gasoline for weeks. I complained several times and they kept saying things like "its just non-toxic paint fumes" and "it will go away tomorrow." The problem was it didn't! I had friends come over and feel ill just from stepping through the door. After all the complaining, they Never sent anyone by to check it out. When i asked for a reduction on that month's rent, they said coldly, "absolutely not!"

As if that wasn't bad enough--they totally stiffed me on my deposit. I left the place spotless and they had the nerve to tell me (over the phone) that the apartment was 'filthy'. I know this was a bold-faced lie because i spent my last night literally on my hands and knees scrubbing the floors. I vacuumed the carpet TWICE and they told me they could not return my deposit because i didn't steam clean the carpet. Here's the deal about that: 1-there were no new stains & 2-THEY RIPPED UP AND THREW THE CARPET OUT SO THEY COULD PUT IN TILE! I tried to explain to them that by nature a DEPOSIT is basically collateral for potential damage and that if they were going to throw out the carpet anyway then i shouldn't be charged for it! They said it didn't matter. I asked them for a carpet cleaning bill or receipt to prove that they spent my money and again they brushed my request off like dust. I threatened to take it to court, talk to the press and spread the word via the web and they bluffed they would counter-sue me for libel. In the end i figured it would be more trouble than it was worth but mark my words--this company is run by crooks! if i could give them no stars i would, but apparently i have to choose 1 through 5. Please do not patronize this company, and if you have a problem with them please stand up and bring attention to it so these criminals can be pushed out of business

Horrible customer service and the landlord from hell!!!

I have lived at one of their properties for a year, and it has been the WORST rental experience I have encountered. They were not accoutable when problems occured (i.e. ant/pest control problems, leaky sink and washer). The mangement and staff are pleasant when you rent a property, but when you are a tenant they don't return calls when you need them or have issues. And rental contracts...please...have they even read their own!!! They will claim that it is a tenants responsible for everything. I am probably the best renter you will ever have, I am a neat freak and have spent about $800 dollars of my own money to upkeep their property, but they want to steal more! If anyone manages their homes or properties through them I urge you to consider a more ethical management company. And to those who want to rent, stay away from this company...unless you want the burden of more money from your pocket!
