Bride Gets a "Glow"
by mrsthompson
I was referred to The Spa at Simply Skin by a good friend who recieves frequent treatments and used a therapist of theirs as her make-up artist at her wedding. Since she so highly recommended them, I went to the spa two days before my wedding for a facial and the experience exceeded my expectations. I will definitley be a repeat customer! The atmosphere was welcoming and relaxing, my therapist was both professional and friendly and when I saw my fiancee later that day he noted my lovley "glow". I couldn't have asked for a more theraputic afternoon after some very trying days.
Response from the Director of The Spa Simply Skin

A the Director of The Spa Simply Skin, I would like to respond to the previous posting. It was an unfortunate situation with what happened with this particular client. As someone who has worked with brides from all over California, I understand the importance of your wedding day. At The Spa Simply Skin, we pride ourselves on providing top notch customer service and treatments. This client had several appointments scheduled with a particular therapist, who in the interim decided to move out of the area. Both the front desk coordinators as well as the therapist who was working with this client spoke with her to reschedule her existing appointments. Unfortuantely her manicure and pedicure was still on the schedule with her original therapist and there were no available appointments to reschedule hers. There was a break down of communication on both sides and when trying to provide a solution, this client became hostile and unreasonable. It was definitely a horrible situation for her to experience and for me to endure. I wanted to write this rebuttal in no way to excuse the break down of communication, but as a way to express how much we all care about our clients and that we take what we do very seriously and only want clients to come away with only the most positive outlook of our spa.
Bride Left Hanging

I had a manicure and pedicure scheduled with Simply Skin for the day before my wedding. It was on their books since at least April, and the date of my appointment wasn't until July. Somehow, they overbooked the time and called to cancel my appointment shortly before the wedding. I suggested to the manager that perhaps they could call around and bring someone in, or call other salons to make an appointment for me as this was clearly their fault and I had very little flexibility in my schedule so shortly before my wedding. The manager said they could not do that. Pavilions Salon and Spa is just up the street from Simply Skin and I wonder how hard it would have been for Simply Skin to call them (or any other spa) and say, "Hey, we really blew it with this bride and overbooked her the day before her wedding. Can you provide these services for her at this day and time?" Mistakes happen. I would have understood, if they had taken responsibility for their mistake and made sure (or even tried a lot harder to make sure) I was taken care of. If you're not taken care of at a salon, what's the point of going there? Fortunately, Pavilions Salon and Spa was able to take me in and the story is ending happily for me. I do not recommend Simply Skin, especially if you are preparing for an important event.
