I've seen a lot of complaints about this restaurant and I want to give the opposite view. We had fabulous service and were treated very well both at the bar and at our table. The food options are limited for non-meat eaters, but why would you go to a steakhouse for seafood or vegetarian fare? Pick another spot! I would recommend bringing your own wine, since the corkage fees are low and the selection of wines are limited to fairly cheap or really expensive. I would definitely visit this restaurant again.

Best Steak On the Lake

Well, apparently some people don't like this restaurant. I've been living in Lake Tahoe (North Lake) for 16 years. I have been to Old Range Steakhouse six or seven times and every time has been fantastic. If you don't want to spend a lot of money, don't go because you won't be happy. Service is friendly and sociable and also knowledgeable about the local area. So, next time...leave your babies at home, because some people who go out to a nice dinner don't want to hear crying and all the other obnoxious noises that small children make.

Un Family Friendly & Very Rude

I really do not recommend the Old Range Steakhouse as my family and friend and I were treated so rudely by the owner this last Friday evening. There were many open tables and we asked for a table for 8. He replied he had nothing. We then stated 2 tables of 4 would be fine. He again said he had nothing. We asked for a reservation for the next evening (Saturday) he said he had nothing all night. How about 2 tables of 4? He again said he had nothing on Saturday all night. I called him to see if he would discriminate over the phone and sure enought when I asked to reserve a table for 8 at 6:30 pm the 1st thing he asked was whether there were any children in the party. I stated yes and he then asked how old. When I told him he said he had nothing available at all all evening. He was very, very rude and I strongly encourage you to avoid this establishment, kids or no kids in your party.
