The prices were great. Elegant, it's not. I'd say the decor is homey and comfortable. The lunch menu included dishes that might be considered dinner dishes, along with hamburgers and meatball sandwiches. Ashley was very helpful and attentive. We were celebrating two birthdays and our desserts were served with candles and a nicely sung Happy Birthday by Ashley.

The prices were great! If you want good food in a casual atmosphere, I'd recommend Passaretti's.

"Tahoe friendly". The wine bar and food is great, but the owner, Dan Passaretti is hands on with fantastic service! And thanks to Dan, the atmosphere is "Tahoe friendly" with tons of beautiful art on the walls by local Tahoe artists.

Excellent service. Excellent service, reasonable price and tasty food. Pleasantly greeted and seated, had water on the table almost before we sat down. Pleasant and knowledgeable server, Judy, greeted us quickly, went over the nights specials and got us our drinks. She pleasantly answered our food questions and provided additional insight into our choices. We had an Italian chopped salad which was preceded by a bowl of onion soup. The soup had a vegetable base instead of the normal meat base. The salad was huge, with a varied lettuce mixture, 2 kinds of olives, roasted vegetables, several cheeses and a light balsamic-vinaigrette dressing. The other meal was the meat lasagna which was preceded by a very good house salad with a variety of vegetables in addition to the lettuce. The lasagna was served piping hot and was an excellent mixture of meats, cheeses and herbs. The cheese was not overpowering. Both meals were excellent and we would definitely order them again. The service that we observed throughout the restaurant was attentive and friendly. Our server displayed an excellent sense of humor and her conversation was very engaging.

I highly recommend that you give it a shot. OK I'm biased. I get to come to Tahoe once every month or two, and after a somewhat long drive from the Bay area, I most often make my first stop at Passaretti's for wine & dinner. Since I am so frequent I've gotten on a first name basis with Dan, Tai, Donna, Judy, & all of the staff. Their frendliness has been there from the start though, and is consistent. I do have to plug their Calamari Almondine as my favorite. It is one of three Calamari steak strip varieties that they offer. I haven't been dissappointed by anything on the menu. It is not super fancy, but clean and relaxed. I highly recommend that you give it a shot and see if it's your style. Those that rip it for poor service sound like they just hit it on very busy nights and aren't accustomed to vacation town restaurants, where the crowds appear and dissappear in a way most such places cannot predict.

Great Food, Great Service!. Start with warming homemade soup, or the salad bar offering only the best goodies and several house dressings! Choose from several very tempting daily specials, but if you're like me, you'll soon be coming back for your favorite gooey cheese rich eggplant parmesan, veggie lasagna (my mom's top !) or sweet succulant shrimp scampi. Their menu includes several tempting apetizers. You can add soup or salad for a light meal. For your main course select seafood or traditional pasta dishes, including some vegetarian.

The wait staff will get your order up quickly if your'e on a lunch break, but if you want to linger with friends and good conversation they know how to accommodate!

A locals favorite and a must when you visit the lake. Very affordable, for lunch or dinner.

PS: When you're too tired to cook, call ahead and they will prepare your dinner to take home and enjoy on a tray with a good book
