Unethical and Annoying.
My good friend from up the hill drove the hour down for a fun day of rollerskating today. She had ten free-skate-pay-for-the-skate-rental coupons at Sunrise Rollerland in Citrus Heights that expired today. She invited us along as she had four extra coupons. I figured with lunch and skate rental we'd be out the door for about thirty-five dollars. Credit card time, but worth it. The kids and I have been itching to get out.
We met up with our friends at Sunrise Rollerland in Citrus Heights and stood in a nice long line of other people also attempting to use their promotional coupons. No dice. The management and owner designated all sessions except the adult session today as "special sessions." No coupons. No passes. Period.
I talked to the manager of Sunrise Rollerland in Citrus Heights who was adamant that the passes that expired on December 30th were now unredeemable. I suggested that there was nothing really special about today's session other than the fact that they were open because their customer base was out of school. I reminded her that ten people would be renting skates and that twelve would be buying lunch and that would be roughly $80.00 of profit for the rink. No. No. No. No apology, just a mild scolding for waiting so long to use the passes and a firm NO.
Coupon scam aside, Sunrise Rollerland in Citrus Heights is actually not a very pleasant rink. It is old, the decor is hideous and they overbook children's birthday parties. Choose one of the other local skating rinks.
