Stay was fine, BUT an article of clothing was stolen from me..
Our stay was fine - clean room, working a/c, easy parking, etc.
I left a shirt at the hotel.
After several days of trying to find out if they had it, they said no.
I know this is hard to prove, and management can't really do anything about it, but when something like this happened to me another time back with a different hotel, they were quick to my situation and their HONEST staff actually turned in the leftover items and I was able to feel grateful for honest people.
The real reason that I feel compelled to share my experience is because the hotel management were rudely unsympathetic (said that other customers had actually left 'valuable' items that were returned), initially irresponsive, and made me feel as though my business was unimportant.
No thanks.
Good location, good rate for what you get. But don't expect to sleep Friday and Saturday nights..
I was at the Vagabond for a 8 night stay. The staff there was friendly and accommodating. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Nothing too special, but for the price they're fine. Shops and restaurants are within walking distance. Free internet, breakfast, pool, small workout facility. Everything you need at a good price.
BUT FRIDAY and SATURDAY nights do not expect to sleep unless you are an extremely heavy sleeper. Vagabond shares a parking lot with Denny's, which I guess happens to be "the place to be" from midnight - 3am on Friday and Saturday nights. The parking lot, which is directly below the rooms on one side of the hotel, becomes full of people. And they are partying. Cars bump and blast music. They peel out of the parking lot. There's yelling, talking, confrontations, dancing . . . It's surreal how crazy the parking lot becomes. We called down to the front desk because we could not sleep and we are in town on business. The front desk was certainly courteous and understanding, but didn't help in any way. We asked if we could move to a room on the other side of the hotel, just to sleep for a few hours. Our request was denied. Unless we wanted to move all of our stuff to another room at 2am, we couldn't move just to get some sleep. The front desk said it happens every weekend, "that's just the way this city is." Too bad nobody bothered to mention this minor detail when I booked my entire company there.
Seriously the worst two nights of sleep I've ever had. But other than that, the hotel is great. If you're staying during the week, it's fine. If you plan on staying over the weekend REQUEST A ROOM ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE HOTEL. Trust me.
West Coast travelers find budget-friendly beds and a variety of creature comforts at this friendly hotel chain..

Friendly Staff. Decent hotel with a very good staff. Very professional, service oriented. The room was a good value for the rates. Lots of street noise (located right off the freeway) not enough to disturb our sleep. Breakfast was good - make your own waffles. Parking was tight, they made every effort to accomodate us. Great view of the fireworks. Walking distance to Old town shops and restaurants. Special thanks to "Conchita" for taking good care of us.
