Very, very professional staff, and the best haircare. Hillary has cut and colored my hair for several years now, and She has always done a beautiful job. I have never left this salon unhappy. She has always treated me very professionally.

James is the best! I treated my mom to a haircut and color there, James did her hair, and she was very happy.

Would Not Recommend!. I have gone to James Mark Salon for a couple of years and Hilary has always done a good job on my color, although it washed right out the first time she did it and I had to go back and have it done all over again. While she's done a good job on my color, she gives the worst cut. It seemed that she cut a piece here and there, instead of a thurough cut. The end result was an uneven choppy mess. I had to go somewhere else to have it fixed. So I continued to have Hilary do my color, and someone else do my cut. Yesterday, I went in to have a full color. I brought pictures and specified that I wanted a level 7 brown (medium). Since the stylist that' had been cutting my hair had moved, I figured I'd take my chances and let Hilary "trim" my hair and clean up my layers. How hard could that be? The end result was brown hair so dark, it was almost black at the ends and my original color (medium brown/red) is poking through all over, especially the roots. The cut was just as bad. It was over before it even began. Once again, she cut a piece here and there and was done. I had to aks Hilary if she was going to go through my hair and trim/even up my layers. She did a half ass job of that and in the end, I went home in shock and upset. I called the salon and asked to talk to Hilary. I was told that she had customers and that I most likely would not get a return call today. So I asked to talk to a manager and said that my hair needed to be fixed before the weekend is over and I have to return to work. The reception said she would call the manager and get back to me. Shortly after, Hilary called me, told me she was refunding my money because "she could not handle the stress of fixing my hair", that I would have to go elsewhere for my services, and that she has the right to refuse service. I was so shocked I could barely speak. I have never been treated so poorly. This girl ruined my hair, and then told me to go elsewhere to have it fixed ( on a Saturday at that!). TERRIBLE! A professional would be anxious to fix their mess and make their client happy, or at least try. So unprofessional and cruel. BEWARE OF THIS SALON!

The best salon in town!. James and staff are AWESOME, always friendly and know what they are doing! I have been going to James( a referral from my Mom!) for a few years now, although there are times when he is not available I trust anyone that is available to do my hair! I have recommended several people to James Mark Salon and they too felt the same way, LOVE THEM!

Great new esthetician on staff. Jessica, the new esthtician, is terrific. She has new skills and techniques. She does a great pre-exami ation to access skin conditions. And she does permanent makeup--finally!!! Someone who knows what they are doing.....

Great experience at James Mark Salon Elk Grove, Ca. I've been a client of James Mark Salon in Elk Grove for over 7 years. The customer service in excellent and the staff in always friendly. I've had many highlights, colors and hair styles and I have been very happy with each one. The staff always exemplefies professionalism and courtesy. I look forward to each appointment for the special care and attention I receive. The staff goes the extra mile to ensure each client is looked after in every way. I have recommended James Mark Solon to several of my friends and each one is pleased with the service and client care.

Amazing Employees. I love this salon! From the moment you walk in, the employees make you feel at home. I love the way that my stylist cuts and colors my hair. I always leave happy. Their stylists are very skilled an knowledgable. I have tried many places and this is the first time someone has thinned my culry hair is a way that does not make it frizz!!! You curly haired girls out there know what a big deal that is!

I have also tried several of their spa services (from massage, to waxing) and have always been very satisfied. Their esthetician is excellent. I always get comments on my eyebrows after I've seen her.

I love this salon and reccomend it to all of my friends and family.

An Amazing Experience Every Time. I have been a client at the James Mark Salon in Elk Grove for a couple years. For years, I drove into downtown Sacramento to one of the top salons in the area. When I tired of driving, a friend recommended James. I am thankful for the recommendation. It's an awesome shop, very friendly and accommodating. All good, from the minute you walk through the door. The entire staff is engaged in making your experience the best it can be. James cuts and colors my hair and he does an amazing job. His ego is not involved in my haircut. He makes suggestions, takes my direction, and gives me what I ask for. He keeps very detailed computer records of his clients' hair color so he is not starting over the next time you have an appointment.. The entire staff is extremely professional and upbeat. I highly recommend the shop and, in particular, James Mark. Jan

Best Salon in Sacramento.. Im going to have to completely disagree with the comment below me. This past week I had an awesome experience at the James Mark Salon & Spa. Not only was my stylist unbelievably amazing and knowledgable. She gave me the best cut and color I have ever received. I got offered a beverage numerous times, not just by receptionist but by the stylist also, so much it was almost annoying. haha. Even the stylist in the station next to me was friendly toward me even though I wasnt her client. The receptionist was so sweet and very accomidating. I couldnt see her being rude to anyone. Between the three of them, I had the best experience in a salon that I have ever had before and I will definately be back very soon. I will definately recommend this salon and all the stylist there to everyone I know. Thank You.

Staff was under par. I would not go there again. The stlyists gossiped non-stop with each other and the (mediocre) hair cut was over-priced for what I got. I wasn't offered any beverages and the receiptionist was rude.

Best Salon in Town!. To everyone who visits this web page, I'm here to tell you that the James Mark Salon is awesome! Not only are they all professional in every way but the salon is also warm and inviting. I saw James, the owner, today( and many times previous to this visit) for a color and cut. I walked out of his salon, as I do each and every time, very pleased with the results. I got several compliments on my hair throughout the day. James is fantastic! If you want a great experience, go visit the James Mark Salon.
