I feel so bad for this store. I purchased all new dinnerware through them and had a very positive experience. Have we become so deparment store focased that we forgot what it's like to purchase from a specialty store? I own a small buisness and support local shopping.
A nightmare!!! – Unfortunately, I read the posted reviews too late. Our experience was very similar to that of others. We foolishly paid in full for a delivery scheduled to take place "16-20 weeks" in the future. We received several fictious delivery dates, including "we just received word..." PRIOR to being told after six months that "..the product hadn't been built yet, much less shipped!!!" Based on similar scenarios in other reviews, I assume the order had not been placed while she had free use of our money (as speculated in other reviews, there is likely a cash flow problem and maybe a potential bankruptcy)? We were told delivery would now be in 30 days (why were 112-140 days estimated at time of purchase)? You guessed it; the delivery was ultimately made about 120 days later, more than 10 months from the date of purchase and 5-6 months after the "estimated"delivery dates at the time of purchase!! We love the products offered at Le Petit (and have purchased many), but from now on we'll get ideas there (maybe take pictures if necessary) and order elsewhere, like Pottery World.
Fixed a problem I had with them – I had an issue with the store telling us our order was coming in early and then we were told that was not the case. After trying to reach them for several times and not getting an exact answer of when our bed was to be delivered, I was upset and wrote a negative review on City Search on December 3rd. I am changing my review because I got a call from the owner and she apologized for their mistakes. She offered to provide us with free delivery of our bed, which would have cost us $135. In today's day and age of horrible customer service, I was just happy that she acknowledged their mistake and tried to make up for it.
Cash only??? – Beautiful items but a bit on the pricey side. I've been working with Mia and Elizabeth on a deal to purchase dining room set. Agreed to $5k for 8 chairs and table but Mia was VERY rude and short after I advised that I will not pay for items in cash. Will not risk losing $5k if they close the store. All other stores take credit or 20% down and rest when items arrive. Yes, they are discounting the whole set by $530, but I even suggested to pay cash upon the arrival of table and she said "absolutely not, that is NOT part of the deal". Be careful, these days don't pay for items in cash unless you are picking up right away. I have no problem paying cash, as long as I'm walking out with my purchase.
Businesses are here today but gone tomorrow. Not saying that this will happen to this store, but I sure would like to have some sort of protection if anything happens with my order.
I truly wished that we could have came to a mutual agreement regarding payment and I would have given them a few more stars.
Lack of credibility and effort to act in good faith~ – Worst customer service we've ever experienced. Placed an approx. 10K order for a table and chairs. Part of the order was supposed to arrive 2 months ago and still only estimated guesses on when it might arrive. They said they accidentally placed the order wrong to begin with and repeatedly couldn't find my paperwork when their deliver missed the first deadline. Asked for the store manager to call me and got nothing. Went back weeks later and happened to catch the store owner and manager at the same time who gave a list of exuses about the table being stuck in Texas but that it should arrive within two weeks. FIVEweeks later, still no delivery and no call from either the manager or the owner to let me know what was going on, even though they had both promised to be in contact with us weekly. We left them with five different ways to contact us including two emails. The furniture did eventually show up at their supplier's warehouse but there was a problem with the stain which the store didn't know about because they "forgot" to check on our order. Now we have a new "delivery date" but we're wondering if they are having some kind of serious financial problems that are preventing the order from properly going through.
Yikes! What a nightmare! We've demanded a refund stating that we just want to deal with a different store altogether, but so far it looks like we might have to take legal action. We keep getting the runaround and vague promises to deliver the furniture "soon". We still haven't been able to get in touch with the owner because she's always "in a meeting". If their store is going under during the tought financial times, we just hope we can get our money back first!
Agressive & Phony Sales Staff, Overpriced too – Sales staff to agressive to sell you ANYTHING. Witnessed what appeared to be owner coaxing staff to follow me around, I thought it was rude. Its a small store you dont need to have sales people hovering over you; most people like to look without being bothered.
Overpriced! – Beautiful store, unfriendly sales staff and overpriced goods commonly found in other stores. A pretentious sales staff turned me off - god forbid you wear your sweats.. but if your Rolex pops out, they'll show their friendly face .. pretty pathetic.
