Loser David. To David....Learn to spell and construct a sentence. YOU are the loser. HaHaHa
Security are losers!!!!. Had someone still my cell phone. when confronted person with information about "friends" who stole my phone and person told me "to get the f*** away" security heard the whole confersation. when the person said get the f*** away and i walked away, i started to walk away , the person, who was drunk said it again. and i admit at that point i was annoyed at that point. I said shout the f*** up b**** Security admittely told me to leave. I started to but when i asked to talk to them by my self to tell my side of the story, they pepper spray me TWO TIMES!!!!!!!!! I was not resesting! When I told them i had a complaint they told me to go to the police. i flaged a CHP car down and they said security was like that cause of the drunks from the bars around the area.I WAS NOT DRUNK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The security at Hot Rods is unprofessenol and losers! do not go there!
Wankers!. Just had my first at Hot Rods. (no pun intended) Might I say, that the food is terrible and well, when I arrived both of the "boys" were hanging/sitting on the counter and the front lights were off. The nice flat screen TV's looked nice and black, not on. But who goes to a restaurant for the ambiance any how, right? On to the food. Burger, fries and a shake...lets see, that will be $14 dollars please....! I know I am a big guy, but did they see me coming. Being this establishment is in a G&L area, was I subject to a straight tax that I was not aware of? Paid the money expecting something that was palatable and hot. What I received however was the opposite. Another post above mentioned a dry burger. +1 for them, right on target. But I will add tuff and no seasoning/flavor. The fries, how can you mess up fries, must have been left over from last night with the heat lamp on over them too boot! As a side note a nice older lady came in while I was waiting, asked for an ice cream cone. The "boy" sold her the cone, took her money then told her (with out missing a beat) sorry, we do not have any cones. Of coarse her response was exactly what any of us would say. "What about those"! Nice staff my A$$, the owner needs to monitor his staff a little more. I and whom ever I can tell will not be trying this establishment...
I'll be back ....
It's a HAMBURGER-SHAKE-FRIES place! It's not fast food .. I didn't go there expecting "fast food".
I've been there 2X .. and I do plan to go again. 1st time was with family - wife's idea .. it was a good one! I enjoyed the atmosphere (the place is small, quiet .. ) so I organized a "Z Social". A social gathering for fellow Z-car enthusiasts. We (20 of us - 17 "cars") went on a Sunday ... kind of overwhelmed the staff (they were concerned that we were going to expect "fast food" type of service .. we weren't). Food was enjoyable .. service was "just right" ...
Comments I got .. we want to go back ...
Never again. Thats all I have to say and I have nothing more to say except the review says I have to write at least 100 characters so I'm going to continue to waste space because as far as this restaraunt goes I have nothing more to say except never again.
Good gay food. If you want to see and be seen, this would be the place. The food is fairly good but a bit overpriced for "fast food" - burger, fries and drink came to nearly $9. On the two occasions I was there, the staff attitude varied widely - the first time it was way overly friendly, and the second time it was indifferent to the point of being perturbed a customer actually showed up.
Great lunch place!. Not recommended on the weekend unless you don't mind stumbling through a crowd of rude kids and tempermental staff. But the food is good. We try going during lunch time and found that the staff are pleasant and they'll make your hamburgers they way you want. It is a little overpriced but worth it.
Misdemeanor. Chicken San $5, Onion Rings, $4. Very Disappointed. When we picked up an onion ring it dripped of grease and was soggy in minutes. The chicken san was dry and the bread had been sitting out for a while. While the guys behind the counter were cute, not a one smiled or seemed very happy we were there to buy food and eat.
Great burgers!!. The burgers are great! Just like the kind you used to get years ago..before the fast food craze. The hours are great to for late nighters or midtowners. Overall we had a great time there though the service was way slow and not particularly on the friendly side.
This popular late-night eatery is the most recent addition to the city's blossoming gay neighborhood..
In Short
Deep-red walls, brushed metal and big-screen TVs make this a modern, fashionable alternative to the typical fast-food joint. The vibe is casual, with a simple menu of burgers, shakes and fries to match. Diners come here not so much for the food, but to see and be seen at this overwhelmingly gay hangout. The location across from the city's most popular gay nightclub, coupled with extended hours, makes it the perfect place to curb your hunger after a night of dancing.
